[PC Steam] UNLIMITED MAPS - Overload Your Map and Game Count in Halo: MCC & How To Access ALL Halo Gametypes and Built-In Maps
By I NEED A MEDICCCCCCC!!!!
This is a guide on how to overload your map and game count in Halo: MCC & how to access all halo gametypes and built-in maps. This guide goes over the process on how to have unlimited maps and gametypes within Halo: MCC among all applicable titles. And allows flexibility in file organization and content creation.

Halo: MCC, by default, caps users from saving more than 50 maps and gametypes per account; this is how we bypass that limitation.

How to Access your Halo: MCC Local Files
How to Access your Halo: MCC Local Files:*Make sure Halo: MCC is closed while doing the following. Although with the game open, this is not a big deal but you may not see your changes update.

1. Go to your local drive , this will usually be your C Drive

2. Search within this drive and type “LocaLLow” - this will take some time to load (1-3 minutes)

3.There will be a folder named “LocalLow” open this folder

4. Open the “MCC” folder and then “LocalFiles” - you are going to see your profile ID; this ID will contain some numbers and letters (i.e. 000098238fdf300) - some of you may recognize this ID from the Xbox 360 days.

- There may be multiple folders of ID’s. This will happen if you have used multiple accounts playing MCC.

5. Open your ID folder.
*Some of you may need to trial and error and deduce which is yours if you are unsure.

6. Open a game folder of your choice of what you want to edit - there will be folders such as: Halo1, Halo2, etc.. I will open Halo 3 as an example.

7. From here, you will see “GameType” and “Map.” Gametype files are formatted as BIN files, and maps are formatted as MVAR files

8. The files within the folders pertain to the 50 file limit for gametypes and maps per account. So if you are maxed, you should see 50 files etc.

9. Once you are here, this is a good time to copy and back up your files if desired. You can literally just copy and paste into a backup folder onto your desktop. Whatever works for you.
How to Add Gametypes and Maps:

How to Add Gametypes and Maps:

1. So considering what we know, how do we add new maps and gametypes? Well it is as simple as adding/ pasting BIN files into the “GameType” folder and MVAR files into the “Map” folder.

2. So interestingly enough, anyone can access every single map or gametype from the Halo: MCC steam files. This includes not only the base maps and gametypes but even maps that are in various playlists such as certain ranked playlists, and even maps that were released during events such as the MCC map competition some years ago - AND even maps that were released in community competitions back when Bungie owned the rights to Halo. For example, Halo 3 has plenty of maps from 2009 in these steam files.

3. NEW step: Go into Steam, go to Halo: MCC - Manage - Browse Local Files, open this.

4. You are going to see a lot here, but it is fairly intuitive. Since I am using Halo 3, I will be using that as reference.

5. Click on “halo3” and click into the “hopper_map_variants” or “hopper_game_variants”

- WARNING. You will NOT see hopper map variants for games that do not have / have had forge. If you are only seeing MAP files and not MVAR then those are your actual map installations. You do not want to edit/ remove/ add those.

- Complete digression;.if you are into modding, you can replace MAP files with the same name as the file itself, but this is only recommended if you intend to play on your modded map with EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) off.

6. From here it is pretty easy, you can select what you want and copy and paste back into your locallow files you have open under your account, A.K.A. the other tab you may still have open at this point.

7. You can have hundreds of maps and gametypes while in MCC doing this method but there are some caveats to this:
You can not create nor save new maps or game types when you are surpassing the 50 limit.

Tips and Tricks:
- You CAN change the name of mvar and bin files, that is not a problem. I recommend this if you intend to organize your files.

- This is good for hosting CGB (custom game browser) lobbies and CGB events

-. You can create your own mvar’s and save them into your PC files to make room to create more maps in MCC. For example, I have several folders of jump maps and custom made maps.

- Reminder: the MCC fileshare can hold 150 maps and this can also be used to save maps in retainer. I will have an additional guide on how to override the cloud fileshare per account.

To skip the LocalLow part, you can just paste your profile ID into your C drive search
