How to install mods into Monster Hunter: World
By 🌸 幻 | Valinypse
There's various ways to install mods into Monster Hunter: World, and this guide will cover three of them:
  • Regular drag and drop with Stracker's Loader.
  • Fluffy Mod Manager.
  • MHW Mod Manager.
You can also use Mod Organizer 2 (A popular mod manager, I've used it before for STALKER: Anomaly, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout) or Vortex (The official mod manager provided by NexusMods), but this guide will avoid these two.

・ Modding with Stracker's Loader
We'll need something called Stracker's Loader, you can easily find it on NexusMods.

Here's a link to it:

  • nexusmods・com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1982

I have to censor it, otherwise Steam would get angry at me. Just replace the middle dot with a regular dot or search it by yourself.

You'll get a .rar file. Now go into the game's main directory and extract its content there.

Some mods will also need you to get this one thing called 'Performance Booster and Plugin Extender', you can get it from NexusMods too.

  • nexusmods・com/monsterhunterworld/mods/3473

Continue to extract it into Monster Hunter World's directory just as you did with Stracker's Loader.

Now, open loader-config.json with a text editor and if it says "ERROR", replace it with "DEBUG".

You'll know it works if you see "loading plugin nativepc\\plugins\\!CRCBypass.dll - CRC Bypass Loading - TempPatch of CRC Bypass Loaded! - DONE !" in your command prompt.

Now if you want to install other mods with Stracker's Loader, you'll simply have to insert its files into NativePC. Always read the modder's instructions, as some mods will require some other steps.
・ Modding with Fluffy Mod Manager
Newer versions of Fluffy Mod Manager allow modding with Monster Hunter: World. Here's a link to it:

  • fluffyquack・com/tools/modmanager.zip

As I've said before, if I do not censor this link Steam will get angry at me. Just replace the middle dot with a regular dot or search it by yourself.

Now extract it anywhere in your computer, you don't need to extract it into Monster Hunter World's main directory.

Open it, it'll ask you which game you'll want to mod, select Monster Hunter: World.

Let's say you want to install this one mod called Souvenir's Light Pillar. Just download it from NexusMods and drag its .rar file into Fluffy Mod Manager.

Click on it to activate it and check if it works. You don't need to launch the game in Fluffy Mod Manager, once you activate your mods in there, running the game via Steam will still have them activated.
・ Modding with MHW Mod Manager
This is not my preferred way of modding Monster Hunter: World, but I've used this software for a long time and I've been told it still works great, so here's how to use MHW Mod Manager.

As always, you can get it from NexusMods. Here's a link to it:

  • nexusmods・com/monsterhunterworld/mods/372

You already know what to do; just replace the middle dot with a regular dot or search it by yourself.

Extract it anywhere in your computer and run MHW_ModManager.exe.

Now you'll have to copy the main Monster Hunter: World address into the upper part of MHW Mod Manager, where it says 'Game Directory:'.

Now you can install any mod you want dragging its .rar file into the left big space of the MHW Mod Manager. Now right-click it and select 'Install ALL Files'.

For some reason this picture is extremely low resolution. Anyways, it may still say 'Not installed' below 'Status', that is normal and will fix by itself later.
・ Extras!
I have another guide with very similar content explaining how to install ReShade and fix a few performance issues, here's a link to it:

And I also made another Modding guide, but for Monster Hunter: Rise, here's a link to it:

I hope this guide helped you. Have a nice day! :)
