Trackir not working? Here's how to fix TrackIR to work with the FSX Steam Edition.

Note: this was a release day fix, so maybe subsequent patches sort this out.

There is also this to try first from DTG support:

Alternatively if you are still experiencing problems using TrackIR please run the installer which can be found here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK\SimConnect.msi

This will install a different version of SimConnect and TrackIR will then work correctly.

..but if that doesn't work then here's the original fix:

1. You need to take the Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll out of:

X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\lib\managed\Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll

Rename it simconnect.dll and replace the exsisting file in the FSX root folder

2. Take sample.exe.manifest out of:

X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\lib\Sample.exe.manifest

Rename it simconnect.manifest and put it in your track IR folder:

X:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\simconnect.manifest

Well, it is working, but it doesn't show up as a device in settings.

thank you. while I don't have ir track or flight X I was fixing a clients computer who did , and this guide helped a lot.

I just got my new TracKIR and I tried both fixes but neither work, so it seems recent patches made it worse, any help?

Help! I've tried both of these solutions and still cant get Track IR5 to work in FSX Steam. I'm running Win8.1 Intel i5 and GTX660 card. Track IR5 works in all other games..any suggestions or help? Thanks
