Heart & Slash Guide; Basics on Beating Bots
By Rucksack#1
WARNING: SPOILER ALERT :WARNING
This guide is meant to help those who played the game, but need something to help them figure out how to beat some robots. This is only the basics of how to beat most robots currently out. Be warned that some robots will be revealed in this guide and are of only what I know and personal expeirence in "Heart and Slash". Also know this is the first guide I made so if there are some errors in the text don't be too harsh. If there are any things you need more help with like weapons and parts, let me know.

Broken Hearts
Just to clarify, there are three things you need to know about these robots. One, they can hit you, Two, they will hurt you, and Three, they will kill you. I'm only clarifying this becouse you can't just expect a game with such a innocent and loving title screen to be a walk in the park. All the people reading this guide and have played the game know what im talking about. It is a garenteed fact, that you will, at least once, lose.
This doesn't mean game over. Every play through with this game, you learn a new thing every time you play this. I must have died several times in this game trying to get to the boss (yes, there is a boss), but I've never regreted it.
Beating Big Burly Bots
This section is about Beating up the Large or Big Bots. Their attacks are slow, but powerful. Be aware of this. If this guy is about to attack, you don't want to be in front of him. With that noted on to beating them. As they are slow, it is easy to get one hit in on the robot. To your benefit, you want this one hit to count. My suggestion, get something heavy with attack and punch. This will knock the enemy over, leaving it vonerable to attacks. Then you can send a quick series of blows to finish it off. This tatic i like to call "Smashin' & Bashin'," or when you knock over an enemy and kick it while its down.
Annihilating Armord Animatronics
For the reason I put the Armored guys seperate is becouse they require a different fighting style. These guys are alittle tougher than the original Big Burly Bugger above. Usually you fight them a little later in the levels of the factories. They are reletively the same as the originals, but have a thick layer of armor on for protection. You will not be able to get through this armor easy. With this, they are alot slower and easier to maqnuver around. Go for these guys last, it is easier to deal with them alone. Like the fat bully at the jungle-gym. Dealing with him is harder with a bunch of others supporting him, but since he's so slow he can't keep up like the rest. (no offence to any fat kid at a jungle-gym) Any way, back on topic. Typically, I go behind their left arm and start pounding with fist weapons. Since I'm behind them, they can't hit me, and I can pound them from that reagion, so they just go down. If this doesn't work for you, then try pounding them from behind. This will break the armor, but make them alittle faster, so be careful.
Scraping Small Software
This portion of the guide deals with the small, wheel like robots. These are common among the factory levels. These robots are the first (if you prefer second, thats fine too) ones you want to take out. They are very weak compared to most robots, and can be easily taken down with just one or two heavy hits. What makes them so special is there distict factor of healing and supporting other robots. They also can be spawned by a micro war machine (I'll get on that later). One or two can be dealt with, but they can grow stronger in numbers. They also come in different variaties too. Some fly, some hop, some heal, some stomp, but their all the same. Just take them out and the rest of the robots are easier to deal with.
Fending Ferocious Flying Robots
These robots are harder than the Small robots, but easier than the Big robot. They normally act as a support to the ground robots, mainly through aerial attacks. Shooting rockets, lasers, and even drilling, they will try to attack you in any means necessary. I typically go for these second to the wheel bot becouse of their attacks. Since there are different types, and each one is more threatening than the other, I would go for this order. Rockets and Light beams First, Laser Cannons Second, and Drills Third. By going in this order, you eliminate anything that can home in on you and pierce through other enemies, then the drills are easy. Since they swoop in for the attack, they are easy to avoid and predict their attack. To attack them, go for a series of aerial attacks. If they have a shield, they will bounce around, so do a ground slam to do some damage, or continue with pounding in air until their destroyed. If you want, you can use thier attacks against them and their allies
Abolishing Average Automatics
Dealing with an Average or Normal Robot is, suprisingly, easier said than done. They can be quite the challange, their reations are pretty fast and attacks are unpredictable. Be aware of this. They are alot harder with more robots, so deal with them last,( or second to last accounting for the Armored bot). If at all possible, you want to try to knock all the Normal bots in the room at the same time. Becouse of their unpredictable manuvers, you want them all to not be able to hit you. With this, you want to try to deal with them one at a time. Go for aerial attacks, the others can't attack you in the air, and they are easy to deal with alone. Try not to go with melee fighting with more than one. When fighting one, you should wait till it strikes, then follow through with a dodge (or block) and counter with either an aerial, or heavy attack. If successful, this will put them in a stun lock and they can't get out, or do anything about it.
Mangling Micro War Machines
Now, you may be asking, "WTF IZ DA MCRO WR MCHNEZ," now don't threat, I am here to answer your cry. When I refer to a Micro War Machine (M.W.M.), I'm talking about the very small, adorable little buggers that try to obliterate you. These guys are, above all, the smallest robot you will ever find in the factory. There are two different types of M.W.M., the ones that shoot a barrage of painful attacks on you, and the ones that spawn vast amounts of small wheel bot mentioned earlier. These guys are very hard to deal with in a group, so what you want to do is this. First, retreat to a safe distance and take out the other robots. This will leave the room with fewer robots, including the M.W.M. When all other robots are dealt with, smash the little bugger. Normal attacks don't work as good due to it's size, so you need to send a bunch of smash attacks from above. Do this a couple of times and you are clear to move on. Or you can just move on instead of fighting it, that works too.
Demolishing Digital Dogs
Now, first of all, congratulations! You officialy defeated the first boss of the game,( or just skipped to level two O.o). Now to get back on topic, these dalmations are sevierly dangerous. They come in two types, Junk-Yard Dogs, and K-9 Units, both equally as dangerous. These things are second dangerous to the worms(get on it later), They will pumble you down and tend to travel in packs, so be alert. If one is about to attack, you should dodge (or block), then counter with a hard attack. Now they knock over, but not for long. You should practice with your dodge machanic just to be sure you got it down. You need to know the evade machanic to fight these things. You can also use a series of jump attacks, but it's less effective.
Wrecking Wires and Worms
The Worms are, by far, the absalute hardest enemy in the game. They hide and strike when you least know it. but thats not the issue, the issue is hitting them. It is above hard to hit them with a melee attack. It requires precise timing and concentration to land a perfect hit. This is also where the evade mechanic comes in handy, you want to use evade fequently through out level 2 ( and as an in general move too). By dodging their attacks, you are more likely to survive and can land a hit (if timed right), which will unearth the worm Once you master it, you can crush them like bugs!
Terrorising Tank Technology
It's Bigger! It's Badder! It's too much for the average robot! But not really, these guys are actually king of easy if you play your cards right. First, (prefering fist weapons) you can jump on the head of the tank and spam the light attack till it's down, works every time. Though this is hard, due to the possibility of enemies being around tha tank, and it's attack can hit you while jumping. Also note that the tank can drop on you while your under it, so don't go for the legs. Focus for the hood and your golden, pure and simple.
Bashing Bosses (Spoiler Alert)
I,ve noticed that i forgot to put a "how to beat bosses" portion to this guide (about a month after posting -.-). I personally apologize to this very delayed response to the viewers of this guide (if there are any...). Putting a pin in that, lets get to bosses. Bosses are quite hard if you don't have the right tools. If you need to, quit and rejoin the factory a few times until you get what you prefer.( I'll put a weapons guide after this). I think starting at factory is best because of the easier enemies and better equipment spawns (most of the time). The easy enemies also drop scrap (No, Duh') which will help with upgrading equipment for the boss. How to fight these guys require different tactics. I,ll put what I know now, and feel free to assist me in my situation by sending a video and tactics you guys use to beat the boss at my page, or in the description below. And I will be glad enough to put your name in the page aswell.

Boss Knight) The knight has two levels to him, armored and not armored. What i normally do is run and jump around. Doing this will make him more likely to miss most of his attacks. You might want some gear to scrap just for health (preferrably high leveled gear). If he starts shooting at you, jump over it and hit him with a ground pound or drop weapon. Use your dodge after to back off quickly. If he uses the Lasers, just jump over them, and when he Charges, jump over it. When his armor is down, he will run at you and try to hit you, if he misses, his blades will get stuck. This is when you strike. After he is defeated, you can leave to the city.

Junk Boss) I'v never defeated him, so i don't know the way to destroy him, I just know his knees knock him over and then the white robot is vonerable, and the white bot is weak to heavy hits.

Worm boss) This is the level 2 sewer boss. To take him out is simple, I just run alot. And I mean ALOT. This makes it simple to avoid him and keep distance. To avoid the ring attack, hold run to get out of there. By doing this, you can exit his ring, but you will be chased by a giant spinning worm. With this, you also can use it to hit the smaller enemies that spawn, leaving you out of battle. Infact, through out most of the boss you should be running. Except when he hits the wall, where you should strike the propain tanks in him to destroy him. When done, exit the sewer tunnel it entered in to proceed.

You stay still, and time should move slower. I use that time to assess what to do next, like dodge or attack, ect.

It's hard to say actually, because worms spawn randomly generated and that particular one is rare I found. Your best bet is to go the sewer route by killing Frank-Y, then you get more sewer areas and more rusted bots. There are also 6 characters, including Heart, Heart Prototype, Slash, Ronin, Eclipse, and I believe Nightterror, but I can't say because I've never gotten it myself, however I do have a screen shot of it in my library from holloween.

Also im missing one enemy from my roster, it's a worm with a blade (I can tell because I don't have Sharp Fighter) could you tell me where to find it?
Also there seems to be five characters and six slots.

Also it's B-DSS Knight, not Boss Knight.

Clockwork arms are extremely useful against worms.:steamhappy:
