Running game in window mode
By la merde
You have to open the game folder. In this folder you open the game.ini file and change the first line "Bildmodus". If you enter
Bildmodus=DIRECTWINDOW
the game will open in window mode.

Additional hints
  • show_intro=0 will disable the intros at the beginning
  • please use the first launch option (not the "for newer graphic cards"). This will launch the game with the Europa1400Gold.exe and not the Europa1400Gold_TL.exe. The Europa1400Gold_TL.exe causes problems with the window mode and saving the game on my system. The game runs perfect when using Europa1400Gold.exe (first launch option).

Really looking forward to play this game with this settings. Is there a posibility to make the window bigger?

I am not sure about that. But if you have the 1909, you could try the sandbox. But I am not sure if it works (and it is quite some work to do, because after closing the sandbox, everything is gone).

Or you install Hyper-V in the Features in the control panel and install a machine (or Virtual Box or something similar). Maybe the virtual hardware is outdated enough to make it run fine?

Do you know how to get the graphics card drop down to appear again? I picked the wrong card...and now the game loads on my secondary monitor instead of my primary.

Same issue as Revan - but I resolved it by setting my monitor colours (Display settings) to High Color (16 bit).
