THIS METHOD IS OUTDATED
For a better solution, please refer to this great guide here as this is way quicker and more straightforward: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=817347303

I'm keeping this guide here just in case anyone wants to use this method but I do not recommend it as all the useful bells and whistles that once came with the control panel is completely gone thanks to the developer/publisher as a lot of these functions including easy to install mods and more was related to their old website which no longer exists.
DISCLAIMER
This guide uses the method found in Two Worlds Control Panel and was written before Reality Pump rebuilt their entire website as the control panel was connected to the original Two Worlds site in order to make use of features such as downloadable mods via the panel. Since the site's changed, the control panel has proven unreliable, finicky or unusable to a number of players and thus is probably not the best solution to activating controller support for Two Worlds at this time.

Don't blame me for any issues you encounter as I have nothing to do with the creation of the Two Worlds Control Panel, all I can say is that it's worked very well for me so far despite the usual hiccup but you may not be as lucky and if so, chances are I cannot help you. I will keep this guide up with the download link for the control panel if you wish to use this method nonetheless.
Introduction
My first time playing Two Worlds, I originally played the Xbox 360 version and despite the not-so-great port of the game, I found it to be very enjoyable but ever since I started playing the PC version I thought the PC controls didn't feel right to me. Either this was because I was so used to the 360 version or it's possibly because I just generally prefer playing with a gamepad.

Well luckily I found a very quick and easy way to get the game to work with the 360 pad since the game itself doesn't come with the support on it's own so I'll give you a quick little guide on how to play it with a 360 controller except you have MUCH better framerate and visuals than the 360 version. Because PC Master Race.
What You'll Need
Firstly you are going to need the Two Worlds Control Panel, link is right here:
http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/pc/addons-mods/two-worlds-control-panel/

This is the only program you will ever need for the process along with a controller that has Xinput support i.e. an Xbox 360 controller or any third party controller that supports Xinput.
How To Set It Up
First once you download the control panel, open it up and it will ask you to find your Two Worlds directory which will most likely be: C:Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Two Worlds - Epic Edition/TwoWorlds.exe

The control panel will then fix itself so it can access your Two Worlds files and then in the tabs at the top, click the 'tweaks' tab and it will have an option that says 'Enable Xbox Gamepad', click this and then gamepad support will be fully enabled in game so you don't need to use the control panel any longer at this point. However if you wish to download the community made mods and do your tweaks out of the game then the control panel has that going for you as well.
Start Playing!
Once that's all done and set up, you can now start playing! Although be sure to have your controller connected before going in-game so this way the game will ask whether you want to use gamepad or keyboard and of course if you're reading this, you're going to choose gamepad. Once you go into the game you'll notice the hud will change to the Xbox 360 counterpart, making it much more akin to playing on a console - except you're playing on a PC with a gamepad making for a much more comfortable experience whilst playing.

I thought I'd share this guide for those who prefer their gaming with a controller like I do and are disappointed with the lack of native gamepad support, I wanted to shine some light for those people and tell them 'Hey this has controller support!' especially since I wasn't a fan of the PC interface and controls, the gamepad just felt natural to me after playing perhaps over 200 hours on the 360 version. As you can tell, depsite it's flaws and quirks, Two Worlds holds a special place in my gaming heart.

But yep that's all there is to this guide. Quick and simple, super easy to set up with lots of hours of gaming ahead of you! Enjoy!

Works only half way for me! None of the colored buttons work but everything else is fine. Can only attack from my horse.

I've been trying to do this on the Steam Deck (Linux runs using Wine), but no dice. Any slim chance that someone has managed to get it working? I'm assuming the issue is that I'm using the Steam Deck and not an Xbox controller.

Ok so just because I can and I doubt anyone likes fishing through 3 to 5 diff links to find this info here you go.

To activate the games native xbox360 controller support:
1. Go to windows menu, search regedit and click it.
2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reality Pump\TwoWorlds\Interface.
3. Double click EnablePad and change value data from 0 to 1, click ok.
4. Start game, click Pad and then you are done. No two worlds control panel needed.

Now for those of you who are like me that want the best of two worlds (controller and mouse) sorry couldn't resist, I use is Xpadder (Learn more at https://xpadder.com/) it's a 1 time $10 fee but is absolutely worth it as it works with almost every pc game.
Just get the controller image for whatever type of controller you are using, set it up and map your keyboard controls to it however you wish and you can enjoy the ease of use of a controller to play and precision of the mouse in the menu simultaneously.

To anyone that needs the Control Panel from a trusted site, it is available at Moddb or Nexus Mods.

It's been gone for a long time sadly. I stopped updating this guide years ago but I'm sure the Two Worlds Control Panel is still reasonably easy to find on a site that's not dodgy.

Hi. Just bought this and am having the same problem as Emerald Unicorn. Do you have any screenshots of this, because I installed it and the tabs are the same. No game pad. Also, petewolfwinn are you using Windows 8 or 10? I wonder if that makes a difference.

worked fine for me, the interface says it can locate the install, but it's where it is supposed to be and works just fine, thanks for the link!

@Milouze - There is nothing misleading about the guide, the control panel is designed to activate the controller support automatically as well as the ability to fiddle around with a number of other features. It's all handled by an online system connected to the Two Worlds site which has sadly been rebuilt and downloadable mods are no longer a thing to my knowledge, it worked amazing before Reality Pump screwed up the online funcionality of it and because of that, it's become a slight hassle even for me. However people can still enable controller support through that and that's ultimately the goal of this guide. I'm keeping this up if people wish to enable controller support via this method.

Please bear in mind I did not make this program so any problems you might be having are most likely beyond my knowledge. You'll just have to find the problem yourself.

@[Risk] Galliant - From what I can tell, your version might not have installed properly and you might need to redownload. Although saying that, its been very weird and problematic since Reality Pump rebuilt their site almost a year ago which renders a number of features moot but you can still enable controller support. In my case, it asks me to find the Two Worlds installation every time, finds it and then three error pages pops up and it takes a good few minutes before it decides to show up normally. Once its loaded, at the top you will see "tweaks" and once you click that you will see "Enable Xbox Gamepad" at the bottom of the page. That's all I can tell you from my experience and if that doesn't clear things up then I don't think there's much I can do to help.
