How to Change Your FOV Using the In-game Console

This method is only temporary - it resets when you restart the game.
Using it will NOT DISABLE achievements
It is useful for trying out different FOV values and finding the right one for you.

Firstly, you want to launch the game, load up a save and once spawned, hit the ` key on your keyboard (~) which is located just between TAB and ESCAPE. This will load up a console, which should appear in the lower left corner, where you need to type "FOV x" where x is the desired FOV value.

How to Change Your FOV by Modifying the Config Files

This method is permanent - it stays the same when you restart the game.
By using it, it will NOT DISABLE achievements at all.
It is useful once you know what FOV value is good for you, and sticking with it.

Step 1.

Go to C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Skyrim , and find the file called "Skyrim" or "Skyrim.ini".

Step 2.

Open it with notepad, or any other document editing program, and under the [DISPLAY] section, paste the code "fDefaultWorldFOV=X", where X is the desired FOV value.

Step 3.

Make sure to hit SAVE and you're done :)

W O W.... like W O W. I think I could actually try this, I am super non-computer, to even get to play the two I do play I basically needed a 'teacher' by my side that I could check with if it went weird or I got shocked, and to warn me about low health etc, now it's been a few yrs and I have some confidence- oh yeah and 'save save save' and 'tab' are my best friends. Thank you for being one of those amazing ppl that can put things clearly to me and yet not lose the bright ppl either. oh yeah and super thanks for sharing your knowledge too.
