This is my first attempt at custom terrain. In the world there is a main mountain surounded by two rivers which eventualy meet up, there are a couple smaller hills which are good for building castles on. As there is currently no water in game I've replaced the rivers with stone which hasn't turned out so bad.

The flat areas of the map are more lumpy than I would prefer I think this is due to making the original map to large and having to compress it.
I would also perfer the forests to be denser and the river to be deeper but over all I'm happy with how this turned out.

This is a normal sized map 1kmx1km

If you have any ideas for maps that you would like, just let me know, I plan to make more.

Perhaps you could do the same design, but instead of the ocean just substitute it with a different terrain, so in essence it's just a relatively flat map, with light rolling hills, but it builds up to large foundation in the center where a castle could be placed. Sort of like the lonely mountain in The Hobbit.

I've wanted to do one with a coast but I've been nervous about how it will turn out.

Hmm well it probably wouldn't work well without actual water in the game, but something like the area Kings Landing(Game of thrones) is placed on would be cool, flat terrain that leads up to a rocky cliff surrounded by an ocean, not sure if it would be very practical in game but it's certainly cool in theory :P http://mixhdwallpapers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/1913.jpg
