Adding Your Own Object With Maps - BASICS
By SinVerguenzaGames
After much struggle, here is how I finally got my own object into GameGuru:

1. I created a mesh object in Maxon's Cinema 4D (no mapping here...just plain mesh obj)
2. I exported this work as 3ds max (EXPORT/.3DS)
3. I imported this mesh work into fragMOTION
4. In fragMOTION I created a texture...then assigned it as a map to my imported mesh
5. Finally I exported this work as a Direct X (.x) file.

Then and only then was I able to import this Direct X file into GameGuru.

WARNING: You may want to change your default mesh software measuring system from 'cm' to something like 'inches' or 'feet'.

Hope this helps someone.

Floyd ^A^: OK, thinking about it now, it might not be the polygons, i've recently encountered a similar issue, you import the model into the importer then when you try to save it crashes and reloads the editor. I worked out exactly what it is for me, so it may be the same with you. Basically i've been running GameGuru directly from the .exe file to avoid having to log steam in, while GameGuru is running that way i always get the import crash, if i run GameGuru through Steam the import works perfectly fine.

Floyd ^A^: That sounds like the model you are trying to import has too many polygons for the editor to handle, there's a maximum limit of around 22000 polygons/tri's and/or 64 bones per model

What settings for the x file did you use. I've tried using Fragmotion
and it doesn't work at all. Also right after attempting to import
a file it messes up the editor and I have to reboot the program.
Real deal breaker for making a game that doesn't look the same as
everyone elses.
