• Factories produce goods and food but it's not where they are consumed. You need a diner with a refreshments counter for deserts and drinks, and a lunch table for pizza and meals.
  
• In the Galaxy Map left click drills down and right click zooms back out again.
  
• Also in the Galaxy map you can click on the left to show resources. This is handy to see how many resources come from a planet, a system or a whole galaxy as you zoom in our out.
  
• You don't need tourists right away so even if you build your space port leave the docking bay disabled until you are ready. Tourists will eat your precious food and deserts so prepare for them in advance.
  
• ...but don't leave it too late. Tourists are your source of income.
  
• Build seperate eating areas for your crew and tourists and seperate them with security gates so some parts of your base are off limits. That way tourists can't take up a spot at a counter while a crew member goes hungry.
  
• Build seperate beds and showers for tourists too.
  
• Build your main tourist areas close together. Tourists have a limited time on base and they need to move from one activity to another in the quickest route possible. For example, put the diner right next to the shops and bedrooms so they can move from one to the other in minimal time. The aim is to get tourist happiness as high as possible before they leave.
  
• Try and get a sniper rifle or lemurian rifle for your strategist. This long range weapon can take out enemies before they even see you, so you can stealth your way through a mission.
  
• Don't forget to go back and complete low level missions on the hard and WTF difficulties (known as ** and ***). Once successful these add a multiplier to resource production so if you are low on water target the planets with the most water. A planet with 5 water will produce 15 with a *** multipler.
  
• Also hard(**) and WTF(***) difficulty can drop ** and *** weapons and abiltiies. Sometimes a level 1 weapon with *** will be more powerful than a level 3 or 4 with only one *, so it's worth going back and re-doing those low level missions.
  
• On harder missions always use your doctor to refill health and your engineer to refill energy after every squirmish. Give these two characters the best health and energy regen abilities you have.

Lemurian Sharp
Rifle for your Strategist. Not only packs 619 power but the range is 15.0m line so you can take out an enemy without them noticing you.

Recall
I like this ability for your Diplomat. Inevitably one of my crew get blasted into Stasis and inevitably it's always my engineer who I need to keep my crews energy up. This ability brings them back.
