How to download just the update

You don't have to download the full new game (6GB) for the Steamworks update, just follow these steps:

Navigate to your steamapps folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common)
- You can also right-click the entry of DiRT 3 in your library and go to Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files...
Rename the "DiRT 3" Folder to "DiRT 3 Complete Edition"
Now just click the Install button on the DiRT 3 Complete Edition page in your game library.
- (In case you have already started the download just right-click the entry in your library and click "Delete Local Content")
Waaaaaait ...
Download the new files ~800mb (it says 6.5gb but you'll have 5.7gb once the download has started)
Have fun!

I noticed that I have now two versions of this game in my steam folder, the GFW version and the steamworks, both seem to work as I still have a GFW (crosses himself) account. Although I did have issues at first with the audio driver locking up and the games refusing to start. all good now though and a cool game. Dunno lol, I kinda like thinking I have two for the price of one rofl..

Yeah I just reinstalled it, not a big deal if you have broadband and no caps. Glad they gave us this updates version, now we can play online. GFW didn't work anymore.

Well I for one don't mind having to redo the game again, need to relearn it anyway and thats the best way,
Can't wait to take the Mini Gymkhana out for a spin in the free roam arena :D

I think they have said savegame transfers wont be possible

Is there any way to transfer the savegames? I downloaded the new complete edition but now my save games are not present in the game :(

878.3MB download, for anyone wondering. It took a while to check the files, and then it started the download at 0% / 0.0MB - in other words, it won't say you have anything downloaded. But rest assured, everything will work out fine if you followed the steps here, and once it hits 878.3MB, it'll complete. Thanks! :)
