Hi Jamie. It wastes too much space. If I try to put services outside the rectangles but inside the grid, due to the road directions it has a very low coverage. Even if put services between 2 grids, it still covers a lot less than normal. So if I use this grid, I will raise the costs of upgrading my residents and offices. The road directions should be worked on. Also, it's a bit hard to upgrade the roads with roads with trees, because the roads variety is so big. So bottom line, the service coverage, the lost space and the upgrade issues do not make up for less traffic. I like the idea of isolating parts of the city, but I will have to look/work on a better solution. Good luck with improving this :)

Hi Vapor it works well at least up to 75k+, but it needs good public transit and highway connections after that I am working on a new version.

How did the testing go Jamie? I am very interested in this model

Allohmon, true I am running it through some stress testing tonight and noticed the same thing. The goal was to channel all traffic to the six lanes, but the small roundabout end up a bit clogged, but while traffic is heavy it never stops except to let more vehicles on. I will work with the design over the weekend to improve it.

I really wanted to like this design, but it just doesn't work that well. The incredibly short distances between the five roundabouts means that traffic is constantly in a start-stop, start-stop herky-jerky motion rather than flowing freely. I feel like this design would work much better if it had only three roundabouts: the large center one, a medium one at the far top, and a medium one at the far right. This would increase the local traffic on the two-lane roads, but the six-lane roads could act as better highways/through-roads if they had fewer intersections.
