Low fps solution ( NOT a compability change!)
By Rufus - The maiden slayer
Easy way to pump fps. Still u should change settings in video card control panel to max performance for starbound!

easy as 1,2,3.
1. First go to your starbound storage folder (example: Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\storage).
2. Then open starbound config with notepad.
3. After find vsync and change it to false.
4. Save.
5. Run starbound.

This method helped me now i got 40 fps ingame istead of 10-12

btw last days i spend for performace search and thats what i found: theres an aplication which is turn off 1 cpu function which is pump up fps it called - Cpu unpark. Try it! somehow it helped me 2.
Also theres some function in BIOS which is called Enhanced Half State (or C1E).This should help ppl with weak cpu. Turning off this one is also pump up fps in most of the games.

P.S. ow and the last one thing... Use ingame resolution same as resolution on desktop!

this r mine configs:
vsync - false
zoom lvl - 2
fullscreen - true
fullscreen Resolution - 1280, 1024
and also better run 32 bit version (it works slightly better)
My system:
core 2 duo 1.8, RAM 4gb, video nvidia gforce gtx 645.
About 40-50 fps in outpost.
i hope it will help some1....

oh btw there's 1 known issue:
sometimes fps will drop again...
if it happens just turn fullscreen off, then turn it on again. it will help a bit.
Just trust me.

☥¤§ÑîGHTMÃRɧ¤☥ You have a gaming PC?

I think for 500,000,000,000 mods you need:

Processor: 5 GHz 128 Cores
RAM: 64 GB
GPU: Whatever is the most expensive and high-end-all those mods need a lot of rendering
Hard Drive: as much as you can handle-all those mods need space
OS: Windows 10 (it is the most effecient as far as i can tell) or Linux (it has the bare minumum, idk if Starbound has Linux support)
Monitor: 120 Hz refresh rate (60 Hz is fine, just want you to go big or go home)

GAMING MODE ENABLED

@☥¤§ÑîGHTMÃRɧ¤☥ it must be a problem with your mods. try unsubbing to a few mods you *think* could be causing the issue.

Another thing i'd like to add is the fact that this game runs a LOT smoother on linux, my gaming pc averages around 20~30 fps in the late game while modding, meanwhile, the linux i had (it was just decent for work but horrible for gaming) was smooth 120 frames all the way through.

i mean i did it and i don't notice a difference, my pc is powerful enough to have 60 fps anywhere at any time until i put the zoom to 1x with a zoom mod then it goes to 40 and that hasn't increased with turning off vsync
