The reason Forgotten Lands was started is so that we can build a community of players who are mature and enjoy things like RP (even if you’re new to it), active friendly members and staff you enjoy playing with, and overall to have a server where you can have a good time and actually enjoy the game and not have to worry about hackers or cheaters. We want everyone to be able to have a positive experience while playing Reign of Kings.

A lot of us have experienced servers where staff abuse their powers, hours even days of gaming have been ruined by a hacker or cheater and have had to consistently deal with people who choose to ignore the rules.

We hope to have the server live and accepting players over the next few days as work and real life has hindered progress to some extent.

Please make sure you know the rules that are outlined below. Claiming to not know them is not an excuse if you get kicked from our server, or worse, get banned.

We are currently trying to build a mature community so our minimum age to join the server is 18.



First and foremost, this is a role-playing (RP) server, so you must have a working mic.

Playing a role in a video game means that a player is able to diverge from having a game dictate what actions the playable character takes. Masking playable characters’ personalities helps immerse players into games’ atmospheres as well, making it feel more realistic that the playable character and the player are one entity when the player makes decisions.

What this mean’s is that you will need to interact with other players in the game via text and voice chat, but not as yourself but as the character you have created. A few good ideas to get you started are maybe your character is a blacksmith. So you would play the role of the blacksmith, crafting armour and weapons and supplying them to other players. Or, maybe raiding is more your cup of tea, you could play the role as a thief breaking your way into other players base and pillage any and everything of value.



The Safe Zone

The is a small structure in the middle of the map (loot fields / meadows) where we do not allow acts of violence. The safe zone is to be a safe place where you can meet up with other players, recruit for you guild and even trade with other players without having to worry about being robbed off of or taken hostage.

We do not allow any building within the main valley because as mentioned it is a safe zone, and we intend to hold server events from here. Doing this is the best way of avoiding lag issues around this part of the map.



Chat

We encourage all RP on the server to be done over voice chat. You may also RP in text chat but you may also talk freely within text chat as well.

Racial slander, sexual comments and foul language will not be tolerated on the server. We have no problems with some swearing going on, but take it over the top could result in you being kicked or banned from our server.



Buildings and Structures

Structures must be made to look realistic, this means you may not have bases floating in the middle of the air or bases out in the water. Not doing this also helps reduce lag on the server. If your base is elevated above ground please build supports underneath or you could end up losing your home.

Each guild in the game may only have one crest, it can be any one of the three. If your guild has control of the land (The king is part of your guild) Then you may have up to 2 crests so that you may protect the bridge so you can defend your throne.

Stacking of blocks to gain entry to a base is allowed if you plan to raid it, make sure your base is fortified ie; having a ceiling/roof and iron doors / gates. You may not place items such as workbenches and the likes to gain access to another base.

Building inside the kings tower is not allowed whatsoever. However, you are allowed to fortify the bridge as long as there is a accessible way to the throne, it can be a gate or door of any material as long as its not just a wall.



Combat

KOS is not allowed, there must be a valid reason for combat such as another player is trespassing on your land, you were provoked or your guilds are at war.

Sleepers are fair game, they are considered KOS.

If you are the king you are vulnerable to combat at any and all times. The king is considered KOS.

Combat logging will only result in you falling to sleep in front of the aggressor.

Siege equipment cannot be used to raid a base. If you intend to siege another guild you must announce this and have a valid reason for it. Saying you do not like them is not a valid reason. Both guilds also need to be online during a siege.

Only destroy another guilds crest if you have intentions of taking the base as your own. Destroying the crest just to take the blocks is not allowed.

Kidnapping is allowed as long as a valid RP reason is given such as you are at war with the opposite guild and plan on using a player as ransom. Randomly roping people for your own amusement is not allowed.

Tips

We encourage users to use a recording client such as FRAPS in case you see anyone breaking the rules or you suspect hacking

Uncrested structures are freely claimable so make sure you place a crest on where you plan to keep your base.

Fire causes lag. If you’re experiencing heavy lag in or around your base, put out any fires that are not in use and you will see a rise in FPS.

Players are creative when it comes to raiding. Make sure you base is properly built and sealed off and not at the edge of your crests claim.
