Description

Only the bravest and maddest of new recruits earn their wings in the Hawk Missile Boat. Lightly armoured, but fast, and able to unleash multiple rocket launchers on a single target, Hawks hunt in packs and can can cause significant damage to Corvettes and Frigates in small groups. The young recruits willingness to impress their superiors, together with a culture of machismo and heavy drinking, often lead Hawk pilots to recklessly engage targets far larger than themselves. Tall tales of ships as large as Battlecruisers falling to sustained Hawk attacks proliferate through the drinking establishments of the asteroid belt, leading to the well known phrase, “as mad as a Hawk”. CEU Fleet Command does not endorse this behaviour however, as Hawks do not have the armour to survive long against multiple heavy weapons.


Balance Notes

Strong Against: Corvettes/Unarmed (solo/ambush), Frigates/possibly larger (in groups/ambush),

Weak Against: Bombers, Gun Boats, lots of missiles

I try to make all my ships suitable for use in survival PvP and I'm trying to achieve some sort of balance between vessels to allow for multiple fleet builds, if you use my ships and find a good combination or a bug/problem, let me know.

I was just looking at this ship again after having unsubscribed from most of your blueprints, because I'm being rather selective as to which ships I subscribe to now to keep my blueprint list a bit neater, and did some math.

I find that the acceleration of this ship is quite well balanced for the intended role you describe in another entry, of hitting max speed and turning the ship for a fly-by bombardment. According to your specs listed, the ship hits max speed in just under 1000m (915.25m, to be precise). It's an easy number to keep track of, and falls in nicely with the distances I like to stay in combat when doing bombing runs on large ships, which is between 2000m and 1000m between runs.
