* Prefer getting mana pool level above upgrade cost
* create dual red-cyan gem (merge g1 red and g1 cyan, then merge g2 pure red)
* duplicate that next to first tower
* push both to g7
* on mana shard build tower put highest grade pink you can
You'll leak waves 24 25 26 but regen, and shard will cover
On final wave:
* Merge two G7 3:1 RC gems into g8
* Move your highest grade purple next to G8
* Once apparitions are out of attacking range (closer to orb) create 2-3 more towers towards the orb and move the gems there
* With excess mana create a critical hit gem of highest tier you can (negligeble)

To clarify, the V21 strategy didn't ask you to mix gems of different grades which is obviously suboptimal in this case. 3r1c(yan) means that the gem should have 3 portions of red and 1 portion of cyan, which is made by combining 1 g1 red with g1 cyan gem, then combine the g2 dual gem with a g2 pure red.
One point of note which I find helps getting things done is to know when to get a mana pool level verse spending mana. That little bit of extra mana regen helps tip the balance in your favour at times.
you dont start with enough mana to get the gems needed
