What causes this error?
Your all probably wondering. What causes this error, and why does there seem to be no way to fix it? Well I'll tell you.
First of all, DO NOT LISTEN TO THE DEVELOPERS. They insist that there must be a problem with your PC. Now in some ways that is probably true, but when every other game you play works, that means that the game has to have some sort of an issue. There is either somthing wrong with the port, or there is some strange issue with the DLL files. Whatever it is though there is deffenitly some issues with the developers. There are hundreds of people with this issue, but for some reason they can't be bothered.
Linux penguin?
AH! Now I know what your thinking. I know you are about to click off of here, but hear me out. This is how you fix it! It may sound wierd but it is true. For some odd reason the game works on linux. Now you do have to use a program called Wine to actually get the game to work, but it is a simple process so don't worry.

Before you read any further please go to this link:

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Note:Go for 64 bit, because then you can play better games like Cities:Skylines ;)

DISCLAIMER: You are installing a new OS. I am not liable to any lost files! You chose to follow this guide, so if anything breaks it can't be tagged on me because you more than likely caused the error.
Ubuntu huh?
Yes! Ubuntu. Please don't leave. It works! Trust me.
Hmmm? What about your windows files? Don't worry about them. Once you follow the amazing setup menu provided by ubuntu you get the option to set up a Dual boot. Now with this "dual boot" you get the choice to start Windows or Linux everytime you start your PC. It's an amazing thing.
Now what?
Once you download the Ubuntu OS you will need to put the files onto a USB flash drive. There is a little guide on how to do that here. So go there and do that real quickly then report back here.

USB Guide:
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows

Done? Ok lets continue.
Once you are done with that restart your PC and access the boot menu. Once your there find the USB drive and start the magic.
Ok now you should have found the installer by now. This is where it gets a little scary. If you mess up you delete everything....yeah I know. Stop sweating your making me nervous.
Once you get past the initial screen you will be met by choices tabs. One says Install Ubuntu with windows. IT IS ABSOLOUTLY VITAL THAT YOU SELECT THAT TAB! If not all of your files are gone.
Did you select the right tab? You did? Ok! it's all easy from here on. Just continue with the instillation.
Wow this linux is quite pretty!
I KNOW! It's awesome!
Ok, now that your here go to the ubuntu software center (the shopping bag with an A on it in the side menu). It's like an app store, but better.
Now go to the search bar in the upper left corner and type "wine". Once it loads click on the Wine Windows Program Loader and install it. Since your new to this linux you may notice that installing things is a bit odd. Don't worry though. It's a learning process.

Once wine has installed go to the start menu (The circle dot thingy at the top right corner) and scroll through your applications till you find configure wine. Start that up.

Ok now go to the applications tab and click add application.
Once your in there go to My Computer in the file selector and go to the drive you have ship simulator installed onto (C: more than likely). Now find the questviewer.exe file in your Ship Sim directory.

Ok once you've found it you will be brough back to the applications tab. Now go down to the windows version selector and select the windows version that you had ship simulator installed onto. Now click apply.

Once that is all done you need to go into your files (not with the wine configure) and find the questviewer.exe again in your ship sim directory.

Now right click the .exe file and click the "open with" tab and select Wine.

Now heres the best part. Play the game! Also enjoy the new OS.

Linux is a little wierd at first, but I've learned to love it. Also Steam works with it! So if you want you can install setam and just switch everything to Linux!

a simple fix on windows is to go to steamapps\common\Ship Simulator Extremes\Resources\redist and then install physX 9.10.0129 through that exe in there, and that'll fix it
