Also, 'Byzantine' absolutely saw contemporary use occasionally, I have no clue where you got any of that (other than wikipedia, apparently).
I will not be respoding further on this matter. I have far better things to do with my time.
First: You give me a link to a wikipedia artical and expect me to take it without a entire pitcher full of "grains of salt."
The fact that said arctical itself does not disprove my point or prove the counter argument I was wrighting against only adds to my appathy for this "argument." All that the unrealiable artical said was that the name/title "Byzantine/Byzantine Empire" was not used by many in the WEST untill later along our timeline. That does not mean that useing said name/title in a history/simulation game TODAY is wrong or invalid.
Some religion-specific names are a bit stupid, but what should they be called instead? It feels silly to call them bishops and prince-bishops.

And if you do not belive that (either) then here is a valid soruce: https://ldaamerica.org/types-of-learning-disabilities/dysgraphia/
A valid sorse if any are: http://www.history.com/topics/ancient-history/byzantine-empire
The game has ridiculous mix of English, native languages, and fake words. Like there's native-language "basileus" in English-language kingdom of "Greece", in made up empire called "Byzantine Empire".
It would be OK if game used either consistent English (emperor / Greece / Roman Empire), or some reasonably consistent use of local languages with just Latin spelling (basileus / Hellas / Basileia Rhomaion).
What the game does is just an abomination.
