Introduction
Hello!

This guide aims to help you find all those pesky secret areas in Velocity Ultra to get the "explorer" Achievement. There are 10 of them in total, and you can track which ones you've found in the "progress" folder in your flight computer.

You'll find these secret areas in little holes off the side of the map, usually requiring a fairly big jump to get to. Most of the time you won't find these on your first way through, but by looking at the map you can quickly see where the secret would be. Most of these areas are impossible to get out of once you are there, so you'll have to make sure you can tp out again, or risk dying and having to restart the mission. Once you get the medal however your progress is saved, you do not need to collect it every time you replay the mission.

The secret areas can be found in the following Zones:
1: Zone 17
2: Zone 22
3: Zone 26
4: Zone 28
5: Zone 32
6: Zone 35
7: Zone 39
8: Zone 40
9: Zone 45
10: Zone 49
1: Zone 17
You'll find the first secret area in Zone 17, Kryton's Lab. Its located on the right hand side, about 2/3rds of the way up the map and to access it you'll need to disable the yellow security field on the right hand side. Be sure to drop a telepod at the entrance to this section to make things easier.

Once you have disabled the yellow field, move into the little inlet as far right as you can go. You'll then see the edge of the secret area appear on your screen, which you can then teleport over to. This is where you'll find the secret area medal. From here you'll have to tp back to a pod, or die and restart.

2: Zone 22
You'll find the second secret area in Zone 22: Kubrick's Post. This one is loctaed near the top-right corner of the map, at the end of a fairly long linear section, so once again you'll want to use those telepods to your advantage.

You'll want to work your way up the right hand side as far as you can go, the jump for this one is much harder than the first and it can be tricky to spot the area in the top-right hand corner of your screen if you aren't careful.

3: Zone 26
The next secret area is in Zone 26: Fermat's Bridge. Reaching this area is quite tricky and requires a series of sketchy jumps. It is found on the far right hand side, above the area where the 7th blue switch is located.

4: Zone 28
The fourth secret area is found in Zone 28, Meiville 61. It is located this time on the left hand side, above slightly hidden area that is off the main linear corridor and is quite easy to miss if you don't look at the map. Specifically it is above the Yellow-barred area full of survivors. You'll have to disable 3 Yellow switches before you can access this area.

5: Zone 32
Almost halfway through! The next secret area is in Zone 32: Oceania. This one is interesting as although its one of the harder jumps to make, you'll find survivors hiding in the secret area, meaning if you wan't the perfect medal for this zone you'll have to clear this area every time. It is found on the far left hand side, in a balloon-shaped area above a red switches 1-3 and yellow switch 3.

6: Zone 35
The Sixth Secret Area is found in Zone 35: Rix Maelstrom. It is found on the right hand side in a excalmation-point shaped set of rooms, above the Blue switches. Again there are survivors to be found in these rooms, so be sure to clear them if you are going for a perfect run.

7: Zone 39
The next Secret Area is found in Zone 39: Filmore's Base. It's found in the area to the left of the beginning corridor, in (what i can only assume is an inside joke from the devs) the series of rooms which spell "4 TSA!". The secret room itself is located in the "4", but to gain access to it you'll have to jump into the "!" first. It is quite to sport how to initially make the jump a the wall is very thick and its hard to make the screen scroll far enough to the left. The easiest way is the one pictured, by destroying the turret and using its hidey-hole. This is one of the few secret areas you can technically get back out of again, through you'd have to disable the yellow security first, and so this is of limited use.

8: Zone 40
The next secret medal can be found in Zone 40; Golding Maelstrom. As this is a "hostiles" type mission, and not a "search and rescue", you don't get any telepods to play with. This means you'll have to be in and out of the secret area fast. This isn't too difficult however, you get plenty of time and are given an escape route instead of having to backtrack the way you came. The Secret area is found near the start, just after the first bend to the right.

9: Zone: 45
The penultimate secret area is found in Zone 45: Ridley's Outpost. Its found on the far-right of the map, in the room above the 7 Yellow switch, and is ready for collection right from the start.

10: Zone 49
The Final Secret Area medal can be found int the penultimate stage, Zone 49: Hell's Teeth. This one is decently hard to find, as the level is complex and you are required to get through most of ti before you can access the secret area. It is found on the left hand side of the map, so you will need to disable the blue security field first before accessing it. Then, immediately after disbling yellow switches 1-4, keep to the left and you should see the secret room appear on screen. Once again survivors are hidden here too, so if you feel like perfecting this stage you'll need to grab these too.

Thats it!
Congratulations! If you followed this guide you should now have the "Explorer" Achievement!

This will also net you the "discoverer" achievement, and help you perfect certain trickier stages as well. If you didn't see the achieve pop up, check the the flight computer to make sure you've got them all.

Thanks for reading!
