-To Install-
1)Navigate to the folder Chip's Challenge 1 or 2 is installed.

By default, this folder is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Chip's Challenge 2

If you are running a 64-bit operating system, then the Steam folder will be located in the Program Files (x86) folder.

If you have installed Steam or CC2 elsewhere, then you will have to manually remember where your Steam folder is at.

If you are installing this for Chip's Challenge 1 then the CC1 folder is in the same directory as the CC2 folder. It's even the same folder structure inside.

2)Open up the data folder within.

3 The recommended way) rename the wav folder to wavV or some other name. Then extract the wav folder included to your data directory.

3 The alternative way) you can also just extract and overwrite the games sound if you so desire. If you decide this was a terrible mistake later, verify the integrity of your game cache in Steam to get Steam to redownload the game's sound, overwriting your modifications.

-Notes-

Quirks that have been worked around: some sound effects in Tile World are played in a loop, and last considerably longer than the Chips Challenge 2 sound effects they replace. As a result, some audio lengths had to be cut short to compensate, but otherwise the audio effects work.

Quirks that can't be worked around: when you push ice blocks into fire, they explode. That's because they use the same sound effect as bombs exploding do. Swivel doors use the door unlock sound. Magna-shoes use the same sound effect as the Ice Cleats do in CC2, and this mod uses the latter's sound effect for both. There may be a couple more I'm forgetting but the long and short of this is this isn't a 100% faithful port. Still, it's like a 90 or 95% faithful port. That should be good enough.

-Credit-

DarkMatt put together this mod, but the sound effects were made by Brian Raiter, with assistance from SoX. Brian Raiter has explicitly placed these files in the public domain.

Thanks to Tile World for being Tile World and being an excellent emulation of Chip's Challenge.
