Hello there. You have come to this guide to figure out, "How do I play TF2?"

Well, I have the answers.

So grab a drink and your favorite food because this is going to be a long one.

This is... HOW TO PLAY Team Fortress 2!

When you first boot up the game your greeted with the main menu.


Here's a brief description on what everything does.

PLAY MULTIPLAYER - Sends you to quickplay

PLAY CO-OP - Sends you to Mann vs. Machine

SERVERS - Sends you to Server Browser

TRAINING - Sends you to Bot training and tutorials

ITEMS - Sends you to customization menu

SHOP - Sends you to Mann Co. Store

REPLAYS - Lets you watch your saved replays

WORKSHOP - Lets you upload your created items for TF2

The main things we're going to talk about are:

• Play Multiplayer

When you Click Play Multiplayer, this menu will appear


From here you will be able to pick from the following gamemodes.

• Payload
  
• King of the hill
  
• Attack & Defend
  
• Payload Race
  
• Control Points
  
• Capture the Flag
  
• Special Delivery
  
• Random
  
  Yet if you check the PLAY BETA MAPS tab you will end up getting these options instead,
  NOTE: This could change in future TF2 updates
  
  
• Payload
  
• Robot Defense
  
• Mannpower
  
• Random
  
  Click Play and you will be put into a server.

When you click Play Co-op, you will get this screen


Brief Description of Boot camp:

You will be able to access the mode for free. So, pick a mission, and you will be put into a server.

Brief Description of Mann Up

Same as Boot camp but you have to pay for a ticket (1 ticket = $0.99 usd)

When you click on the shop button, you will get this menu


The title is pretty much self explanatory, You buy in-game items with real-money.

If you click Training, you will get this menu


Basic Training:

You will be given the choice of learning how four different classes play. Those classes are,

• Soldier
  
• Demoman
  
• Engineer
  
• Spy
  
  Click on the class you want to learn and you will be on your way.
  
  Offline Practice:
  
  You will be put into a private server filled with bots. It will operate like a regular TF2 game. So if you know the basics of the class, You can brush up your skills here.
  
  TIP: If you just got the game, GO HERE FIRST TO BASIC TRAINING
  
  
  

When you click Items, you will be sent here

Classes: If you click on one, you will be sent to your loadout screen.

Backpack:

When you click on the backpack, you will be able to see all the items you own.

Crafting:

When you click the crafting icon, you will be sent here


Here you can,

• Craft metal
  
• Craft Tokens and Weapons
  
• Smelt metal
  
  If your premium, you can also,
  
  
• Craft hats
  
• Etc...
  
  Just make sure you have the items before you try to craft something.
  
  Mann Co. Catalog:
  
  Here you can see almost every weapon in the game. You can even test weapons out if you wanted to.
  
  Trading: (ONLY READ THIS IF YOUR PREMIUM)
  
  Trading lets you trade TF2, CS:GO, DOTA, etc... items to anyone. As long as it doesn't say
  "Not Tradable" You will be able to trade it for other items.
