Introduction

A full listing of cheat codes for the various versions of Strife, please note that not all of them work with Strife: Veteran Edition. You can, however, run an older IWAD with the executable and play the demo versions of the game. I have included all of the available cheats for completion's sake.

Achievements

Note that using any of the cheats will disable you from getting Steam Achievements until you reload a previous save (that has had no cheats enabled before saving) or start a new game.

Also note that the state of some toggle cheats (such as the map cheat (topo) don't reset, so you can have the full map for all of the maps while still being able to get achievements. This works still as of July 2018.

How to...

To use the cheat codes, just type them on your keyboard during gameplay. Your character might move and things like inventory selections might change because of how the bindings are set up, but it doesn't affect the cheats. Just tap each key at a casual speed and your cheat will be activated.

1. Retail version 1.2 (Veteran edition)

These are the codes that work with Strife: Veteran Edition out of the box. They are specific to STRIFE1.WAD (md5: 2fed2031a5b03892106e0f117f17901f), which is the full retail version of the game.

Description

omnipotent

Toggle invulnerability (god) mode and sets your health to 100.

elvis

Toggle no clipping mode (allows walking through walls).

stonecold

Kill all enemies in the current map.

lego

Gives the next piece of the Sigil, or reverts back to no Sigil if you have the complete one.

spin###

Play music from a specific map, where # is 0 through 35.

boomstix

Gives all weapons except for the Sigil, full ammo and armour.

donnytrump

Gives 300 gold, and gives one Stamina and one Accuracy upgrade.

jimmy

Gives all 16 keys.

rift##

Teleports you to the default entrance of map number ##. See bottom of guide for map numbers.

scoot#

Teleports you to the entrance number # of the current map (1 through 0).

topo

Cycle map visibility mode (must be viewing the map); only show visited sectors, show full map, or show full map with enemies and items.

gps

Briefly displays your location information.

gripper

Toggles "Stealth Boots" on/off. Makes you move really slow when enabled, supposedly stops alarms from triggering when enabled, but doesn't work.

dots

Toggle "Developer Parameters".

pumpup#

Give item, where # is 0 through 1. Does not work with 0 or 1 in Veteran Edition, but the letters in the below table work.

There's also a cheat code PUMPUP#, where # is a letter corresponding to a powerup. Letter explanations below. I.e. writing "PUMPUPI" gives you partial invisibility.

Description

B for Berserk

Gives you the Berserk powerup (your dagger becomes super powerful).

I for Invisibility

Toggles partial invisibility (enemies will have slight trouble aiming at you).

M for Mask

Toggles the Gas Mask on/off. Use unknown, was likely to become a feature in the full game.

H for Health

Fills your health back up to max, and gives you a Med Patch and Medical Kit.

P for Pack

Gives some ammo; 10 bullets, 2 poison bolts, 4 electric bolts, 6 HE grenades, 4 Phosphor grenades, 4 missiles and 20 Energy Cells.

S for Stats

Gives Stamina and Accuracy upgrades, one of each.

2. Shareware versions 1.0 and 1.1

These cheats are meant for the shareware versions of Strife, using STRIFE0.WAD (v1.0 md5: de2c8dcad7cca206292294bdab524292) and (v1.1 md5: bb545b9c4eca0ff92c14d466b3294023).

These cheat codes do not work with Strife: Veteran Edition, even when you launch the "Trust No One (demo)" from the main game, as it's still running on the Retail version codebase. They are included here for completion's sake.

ibgod

Toggle invulnerability (god) mode and sets your health to 100.

Gives all weapons (crossbow, rifle, flamethrower, and full ammo).

Gives access to more cheat codes, where # is a letter:

B for Berserk
I for Invisibility
M for Gas Mask
H for Health
P for Pack
S for Stats

open

Gives all 16 keys.

stic

Toggles "Stealth Boots".

money

Gives 300 gold, and gives one Stamina and one Accuracy upgrade each.

killem

Kill all non-player characters in the current map.

spirit

Toggle no clipping mode (allows walking through walls).

goto##

Teleports you to the default entrance of map number ##. See bottom of guide for map numbers.

moveme#

Teleports you to a predefined location number # of the current map (1 through 0).

iddt

Cycle map visibility mode (must be viewing the map); only show visited sectors, show full map, or show full map with enemies and items.

ilive

Toggles the auto-use of health items. Same as pressing F5.

aibrain

Toggles the AI of non-player characters. Only affects non-hostile movement, enemies will still attack. For some reason this cheat also makes the game fullbright.

idmypos

Displays a status message with your location information.

idmus##

Changes music to the music of map number ##.

tic

Toggles developer parameters.

The demo version maps are also included in the retail versions of Strife. They exist in the demo versions of the game at the same map numbers, so this list works for those versions as well.

I might have to play with that 'lego' cheat; I only liked the first version of the Sigil. It was cheap to use, deadly in the right situations, and it didn't try to be like a gun.

I'll probably bump it back up for each ghost, then bump it back down.
