Introduction
Greetings! My name is Farsight, and welcome to my Guide.

I have played Conquest of Elysium 3 (COE3) for almost a 1000 hours now. While I've had a chance to play all the classes, I definitely have my favorites, and my not so favorites. Still, I hope that I'll be able to give them all an equally good and fair showing, without too much bias.
Chapter 1 - The Baron
:::::Description:::::

Simple, but very difficult to master, your class focus is on large human armies of elite units.
To help maintain this army you'll recieve a yearly conscription from all your flagged Settlements.
You'll be able to defend these with your "Raise Levies" ability that spawns immobile defenders.

Assisting you in unit recruitment is a +25% bonus to overall Gold and Iron production.

:::::Millitary:::::

The Baron has access to quite a large number of recruits, and the occasional mercenary. There are a total of 14 different recruits to choose from (8 combat units, 3 ranged units and 3 siege units) ideally the best units of each category are Cavalrymen, Longbowmen and Ballista. Notable units to avoid are Crossbowmen, Halberdiers and Heavy Infantry.

The Cavalrymen get two attacks, have decent health, have shields and a point of armor. The Longbowmen are your strongest and most reliable ranged unit. The Ballista is the weakest and cheapest siege unit, but can shoot outside of a siege making it useful in every battle.

The Crossbowmen deal 1-8 damage every two turns, while the Longbowmen deal 2-10 damage every two turns. The Halberdiers are not a good unit, low health, and no shield, they die all to quickly. The Heavy Infantry are slow and overpriced, if you can afford them then the Cavalrymen instead.

:::::Economy:::::

The Baron only has need of Gold and Iron and for the most part you'll have quite a bit of Gold. You start the game with two Farms, one Hamlet and one Castle (your Citadel). This along with your +25% bonus gives you an income of +7 Gold, which is quite a high amount to start with.

:::::Strategy:::::

The Baron's strategy is simple and straightforward.

1.) Capture Settlements.
2.) Raise Levies to defend them.
3.) Trade Gold for Iron.
4.) Purchase elite Recruits.
5.) Use Elite and Conscripted units to steamroll opponents.
6.) Rinse and repeat until Victory is secured.

In the early game you'll want to aquire Towns and Cities as soon as possible. They'll provide you with larger Levies, more Conscripts and provide you with the Trade needed to buy Iron. You can almost forget about Mines (which are heavily guarded) until you've recieved your first batch of Conscripts, after that it'll be quite easy to defeat a lot of the generic lower tiered Neutral guards.
