Ka-Med-Kazi: the guide to the "Suicide Medic"
By Caramon Zero (Ka-Med-Kaze) and 3 collaborators
Many believe that the Medic is the weakest class, and that it's only upside is that can heal other members, occasionally giving them buffs, if they live long enough, but I'm here to tell you about a special breed of Medic who thrives on being sent to spawn, and how to most effectively use it. I give you the Kamikaze Medic.

My Cognizance
If I'm entirely honest with myself, despite my terrible aim, my bad sense of direction, my tendency to explore areas alone every chance I get, and the fact that I play every class besides Scout, whose speed makes my terrible aim even worse, and Soldier, whom I'd be more likely to gib 5 billion times before I learn even the basics of rocket jumping, I believe that if any class could be considered my "true main", it'd be the Medic.

What is a "Kamikaze Medic"?
Even though there are
Combat Medics

Battle Medics

Sniper Medics

Heal Scouts

and so many other different playstyles, I play using parts of all those I find, yet with a twist.

My Medic is a "Distraction Medic", or "Suicide Medic", yet I think Kamikaze Medic fits the bill better.

Kamikaze Medics have the Combat and Battle Medic's aggressiveness, yet use tactics most see as unfitting for Medic, even among many of the previously mentioned archetypes.

Kamikazes are seen as newbies, people who don't know how to play the class because they die a lot, but, in fact, it's the opposite that's true.

Kamikazes die to allow others to move forward, to show their team the dangers ahead, to give their teammates that extra bit of health they need in order to keep going, and to generally do anything it takes to accomplish their goals.

Despite their name, Kamikazes use their own judgement to decide when the best times to live or die are, with, as one would guess, the latter being the most common choice, but, despite that fact, they will do whatever it takes to heal those in need, often running into the fray just to give a few more health to their teammates, knowing for a fact that respawn is a hair's breadth away.

Introduction to Kamikaze Loadouts
In light of their "reckless behavior", Kamikazes know the ins and outs of their weapons, having loadouts tailored to specific situations, some of which many believe to be highly unorthodox due to their extreme dislike of certain items or the odd use of others.

Next, I'll list some of the more common Kamikaze loadouts, as well as their uses.

The Vampire

As with most who use this loadout, Kamikazes are able to take on some of the heavier classes, healing teammates when needed, and gaining easy Uber when they can.

This loadout embodies the Kamikaze playstyle perfectly, in that it allows one to be reckless without holding your team back, essentially allowing you to cause as much mayhem as possible to keep your enemies eyes off your team, and focused on you, as they get closer to completing the objective.

The most effective way to use this as a Kamikaze is to use your Blutsauger when facing multiple enemies to increase the duration of your short span of annoyance, resorting to your Ubersaw when foes begin to overwhelm you, popping Uber when necessary, or on the teammate who decided to use your distraction to lure the enemy team into a trap, giving your team a few extra seconds to gain momentum on the objective.

The Druggy

I call this set "The Druggy", not for the fact that it would seem like you were on drugs for even using the much hated Vitasaw, but because the Medic's already decent manueverability is increased enough to play as a Heal Scout, but the Kamikaze Medic applies these bonuses in a different way than most like to use in favor of "better" weapons.

Using the Quick-Fix to gain Uber quickly, therefore increasing your speed due to the Overdose, is enough to allow a Kamikaze to run circles around most of the enemies hassling those you haven't healed yet, and having the Vitasaw allows you to get back to your team slightly faster when, not if, you get sent back to spawn, which is especially useful if you have a good Scout, who doesn't have to respawn very often, or even none at all.

Many say that the difference in speed is negligible, and not worth the effort to obtain it, yet a crafty Kamikaze can use even the smallest boost in speed to aid their allies and cause mayhem for the enemy.

The Wizard

"Why won't this guy die? He's gotta be hacking!" is what you'll hear from using a proper "magical" Medic before you fire a syringe into your opponent's head while he's distracted by your heal target.
Unlike the more agressive loadouts, this one requires the same amount of strategy as most Sniper Medics, yet the Kamikaze takes it one step further by using yourself as a distraction to scissor most enemies into unescapable situations.

The Wizard loadout is made to make it appear like your allies come from out of nowhere, as well as be healed in the same way, switching your enemies sights back and forth until they're taken down. This is especially helpful for killing combos that have been giving your team trouble, as you can fire at your enemy while healing your flanking ally, healing anyone whom passes by, and saving your UberCharge for when it's needed most: either to escape your enemies when your "nest" is overrun, or to help your allies make a push towards the objective. The Solemn Vow is merely to allow you to see when you have the best chance of striking, and which targets to choose for you to "work your magic" on.

The Blitzkrieger

The Blitzkrieger loadout is, on the surface, played very similar to the average Kritzkrieg loadout, however, a skilled Kamikaze Medic can use this to their advantage.

When Blitzkrieging, a Kamikaze will gain Uber to unleash their first round of Crits, yet, from then on, things change.
After that Uber wears off, the Kamikaze will fire at enemies to get their attention, using the Blutsauger to maintain a decent health pool while doing so, attacking any who get too close with their Ubersaw, luring them into a trap where they'll assist their allies by healing and Ubering them as more opponents are brought in, pushing when the enemy team least expects it.

Thanks
Thank you for your time.
I hope you've found this guide informative and fun, and that it allowed you a deeper understanding of the little known Kamikaze Medic.
Keep Crimson, everybody.

I have another strategy for Kamikazi medics, its a adaption of the wizard but with the vaccinator, I would call its "the Bulletproof Medic" because if you have a max uber as much as possible then keep it on bullets then your 75% bulletproof, and you and your heal target will make the enemy turn to projectiles, fire damage, and melee (if they are bad at those then you succeded in forceing them to use thier worst playstyle)

Thanks for taking the time to read it, Zyke.

Yeah, Penpen and many others have been kind enough to offer assistance with an idea I came up with, and it's funny that you should mention Array's Vexer group, because that's where I first posted the idea for the Medistary, then Chief posted up a recruitment thread for it. XD

I'm not using this as some cheap way of trying to recruit people, I'm just saying that I'm grateful for those who've taken the time to help me with so many things, from something as small as leaving a comment on this guide, to something as big as saving my life.
So, thank you, to everyone who reads this, and to the true friends I've been finding in the places I've least expected to find them.

No, thank you for giving it a read. I hope you find it fun. >^,_,-,_,^<

Well, the entire point of the Kamikaze is sacrificing yourself for your team, which includes healing them every chance you get, when you're not keeping the enemy away from them. XD
A Kamikaze's primary goal is to keep the enemy off your team, and heal them as often as you can, using yourself as a decoy as often as possible.

A Medic hides behind his allies, healing as the others fight, a combatative Medic leads the charge, and heals allies when it's needed, yet a Kamikaze heals everyone they can, putting themselves on the line to get things done by using any means necessary to aid their team in completing their goal, no matter how often they have to respawn doing it.

I'm sorry, that was probably a bit too much, but I hope that also helps deepen the understanding of the Kamikaze playstyle to at least some extent.

Interesting! Unique way of looking at how classes work. When playing Kamikazi, you basically are a Combat Medic, but use strategy and have to be willing to die to help your team move forward. I will try this out! Thanks!

(P.S. Also, you should still heal of course as always. Just act like a crazy Battle Medic but actually help your team out in an unexpected way.)
