Hello everyone im Jona the Orange and I've been playing total war: arena since patch 9 and have picked up some knowledge of the game which i wish i knew when i first started.
Ive put this knowledge into a few short videos, to help new players in the game which will hopefully help in their journey up the tiers. These videos contain basic information you will need when you first start playing a unit, as well as a few tips and tricks.

Unit ratings in my opinion
Of course a lot of people will disagree but heres what ratings i think units are as of patch13 after changing my playstyle completly for a week from a offensive playstyle to a defensive one. This video wont make as much sense to people that havent watched the full week of defensive play but heres the conclusion from it

Catapults
Long range, big numbers.
Light spears
The deadly forest ambushers.

Medium and heavy sword infantry
The front line infantry

Javelineers
Deadly Ranged unit, able to take out heavily armored foes at short range.
Recommended commander: Julius Caesor because of his speed buff, range buff and his silence ability.

strengths: they have ranged attacks which enables them to do damage in moderate saftey
they come in either light or medium infantry so you can move fast across the battlefield
they also hit like a truck compared to archers and slingers
and have slightly more survivabilty compared to other ranged units

Weaknesses: they lack the range of archers and slingers
they will die in a charge or two if you get caught out
if you get stuck in combat say goodbye to your unit

Cavalry
Quick and deadly, what more could you want?

mili can be good with 2 pikes and 1 slinger,

Hold right click and u can drag them out and in, only works for infantry

horse archers are horrible, but horse javaliners have shreeded tier 9 heavy swordsman quit easily.

depends on the map, like rubicon id rather be ballistas but overall i prefer catapults

For arty what do you think is more useful overall, ballistai or catapults?

yeh, been playing them a fair bit recently and sometimes they seem really really strong and then other games they wont do anything you tell them and die horribly lol

Yeah I mostly use them to protect my arty and they work very well for that. But I have had some games where attacking with them has worked out although not often.

Pikeman are to bugged to actually play without camping, as they break formation and your own team is your worse nightmare because of the fact they try to "help you out" which means either raising pikes and losing a lot of pikes or killing your allies. Ive gone back to pikes for a bit each patch and i cant post a video on it because its either showing bad players suiciding into you or camping to make them look viable. The other videos are of them simply bugging out from the huge list of bugs that comes with their formation and basiclly losing through no other fault than them being to buggy to play.

What do you do when you have pikemen fighting against enemy infantry and friendly cav comes to help you out? When this happens to me I tend to lose a minimum of 500 points do to friendly fire.
