Soo.. know your enemy - Rubber Ducky have Irratable II and stupidity I, so it have one Uhh.. (nothing) card, one Anger (1 dmg, -1 hp) and one headbut (2 dmg, -1 hp) card. that way it becomes really hard to die by the hands.. err.. wings.. of rubber ducky, becouse of -1hp of it's own attacks. Problem here is that you have 5 hearts while ducky have 4.

You'll need to deal no more than one dmg to ducky so he could kill you while killing itself with LUCKilly drawn headbutt, also no physical defense (except against uhh card). Question is HOW the hell you can do it?

Answer - Apprentice with Crone's talisman.

Why apprentice - becouse he have one totally not attacking card - intuition wich also gives you +2 cards to hand.
To die the way i found (maybe there are some other ways) you'll need some grind - you'll need 50 for apprentice and 50 for kron's talisman. You could make money by killing ducky, than killing one more monster and abbandoning dungeon (collecting coins if you lucky to get them). Remember not to win the dungeon as you can't replay that mission on current build (afaik).

When you'll get mentioned upgrades start the dungeon with apprentice and hope for 'lucky' cards - you need to get intuition at first or second time to have chances to die.

i'll just make an example of fight: (it's not hard to catch a strategy from it)
1) you 5 hp, ducky 4hp
you have 4 (of 7) cards in hand (by crone's talisman)
ducky played headbutt (2 dmg, -1 hp)
you played intuition (2 cards)

2) you 3 hp, ducky 3 hp
you have 6 (of 7) cards in hand, intuition in discard pile
ducky played anger (1 dmg, -1 hp)
you played sparks (1 dmg)

3) you 2 hp, ducky 1 hp
you have 6 (of 7) cards in hand, intuition in hand
ducky played Uhh.. (nothing)
you played intuition (2 cards)

4) you 2 hp, ducky 1 hp
you have all 7 cards in hand
ducky played headbutt (2 dmg, -1 hp)
you played intuition (2 cards) - actualy don't matter, just dont play quick cards.

5) you 0 hp, ducky 0 hp
PROFIT=) - your achievement packed with another one - NOOOOooooo (if you didn't get it already)

Here "4)" can be delayed by Uhh card (you still playing intuition in that case). But if ducky will play anger (1 dmg, -1 hp) you'll still win with 1 hp left and get another achievement, if you still played intuition - Pacifist (if you didn't get it already)

Does this not work anymore? I start a new game but I don't get the rubber ducky, i'm just supposed to defeat a ratman.

Need a lot of room cards though. Each one your dungeoneer enters for the first time gives 2 gold.

I've attempted this single strategy 16 times, not including the times when intuition didn't turn up in the first couple tries, and every time... my topdeck after playing a damaging card and intuition was the damaging card. Think RNG just hates me. Anyway... I've found it's easy to grind for gold if you just lay down room cards, don't connect them to add a third monster, then keep redrawing cards until you get gold cards. It's time consuming, but more efficient than just killing two monsters and then abandoning run.

I just managed with the bruiser. I used the "Nice try, chump"(block 2 magic dmg) against headbutt, and "you tryin'something?" (block 3 dmg) against "uhhh". In the end, we doth died at the same turn, which counts as losing.

Thanks for the guide, very helpful to find more about the mechanics of this game. After grinding for a bit I found out that it is actually very easy money to expand the dungeon and luring your dungeoneer towards hope cards. You'll get some extra cash for that, but once you are away from the monsters, you end up getting 1 gold for every piece of the map you have uncovered. I expect you don't need to be very lucky to get 100 gold on the first run

Yeah, really useful and nice guide! This helped me to get this achievement in the first try.

I was switching between the cat burglar and the apprentice, both using the crone's talisman, and I managed to get the achievement with the cat burglar. The trick with cat burglar is to use only one HP damage move in the beginning, then hope to be lucky with the catnip cards - which will delay the damage long enough for the duck to potentially kill you. Of course, the duck must be lucky with the headbutts in this approach too.

I did the achievement with mime.
Turn 1: Ducky **/-<3
Me */clone next card (cloned stupidity)
Turn 2: Ducky stupidity
Me shield
Turn 3: Ducky */-<3
Me stupidity
Turn 4: Ducky **/-<3
Me */clone next card

Both die.

There is still luck involved. I was lucky ducky got ** card on turn 4. And I was lucky to clone stupidity instead of one of the damage cards. Provided these two points turn out as described it is possible to die to Ducky as a mime.

In order to get 50 gp just kill the ducky the first time around, go and kill the rat on the right and then keep building dungeon to the right and use all the loot cards you get. Bear in mind that once you abandon quest you will also get extra gold for explored tiles, so keep building dungeon as you collect loot. Make sure not to kill 3rd monster though. After about 10 turns you may end up with 50gp.

To die as a mime talisman of the crone is not needed. But it increases the chances of having the the right cards in your hand when you need them.
