Prologue

Many people get confused as how to gain access to the "COMMUNITY ITEMS".

It's pretty easy, but very counter-intuitive, due to how Steam changed Community Group system.

How to join the group

In 5 simple steps

1) Go to Steam Store, search PAYDAY 2, get on it's page in the Store
2) Click "Follow"
3) You're now part of the official PAYDAY 2 Community Group
4) ???
5) PROFIT!

You get access to plenty of great new guns, new throwables, gun modifications and new melee.

it's fixed now, i unfollowed and followed the game again

If you didn't "unfollow" the game in that time then you should still get these items, however as @VoltaicFeline reported, Starbreeze broke something and can't unbreak it.

AFAIR you either have to re-follow or play 1 heist and items should be available again. I think that was a "solution" offered by OVERKILL themselves.

Yes, I know it's dumb. AAA gaming, bro.

wierdly enough, i followed the game like 3 months ago to get the items and i restart the game now and i am no longer part of the "community group" for some reason ?

this does not work reliably, despite the reports that it does. i believe starbreeze is having trouble actually initiating these items after you link your account or follow the community, as i have done both and the items are still locked.

i earned, bought and owned these items before this stupid update, and now, after all the work of unlocking them in game... i no longer have access to them, over this asanine attempt to up their numbers.

Pboi, they cost in-game currency (in case of weapons or gun attachments), but not real money. It doesn't give you DLC's for free, only the stuff I listed 2 comments below. If you did what is written in this guide while in the game, you need to restart the game.
