How to add a Counter-Strike-Source hand skin to Garry's Mod
By [2T] Mister Cabbage
Edit 2: This guide now works. Tested it with latest version of Garry's mod on 4/17/19
Edit 1: This guide is depriciated as of the latest Garry's Mod update.

This is how to download and install simple CSS skins for hands that are normally not found on the Workshop for Garry's Mod. It will instruct you on how to do this and do it pretty easily.

How to download and Access Your Skin .vpf Files
First, you should have WinRar installed. If you do not, then get it here. [www.win-rar.com] You can get a free copy of this tool that allows you to open compressed files, however it only comes with a trial version, which means that you'll need to buy it at some point. Moreover, as one user told me,

Now, once you have downloaded the file, and placed it somewhere, preferably somewhere that it can be found easily, then you should open it with the WinRar tool by right clicking and then right clicking on "open with..." This will lead you to a prompt menu that names some programs that are installed.

Then, when it's open, you are going to need to create a series of folders that you game will use to find the skins.

Continued in the next section; please see it below.
How to Create Folders for Garry's Mod
Next, you'll need to find the location of your Garry's Mod folders, which should be in your steam archive located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common. In this case, mine are on a separate drive:

You should now see folders that look like the ones above. When you are there, proceed to open the folder labled 'garrysmod,' and then you will need to create a series of folders inside of each other which should be in this one first.

They should just be folders inside of folders, no need to place any files yet! You should then add a folder inside of that called 'models,' then a folder called 'weapons,' then a folder called 'v_models,' and finally a folder called 'hands.' You should then be able to place the files inside of them by highlighting them (left click and drag over any file) then you should press CTRL + C, which is the WIndows shortcut for copying a file, and then do CTRL + V to paste the files in the hands folder. You should see something like these files:

Put ALL of the files in the 'hands' folder.
How to See the Hands Ingame
Now, when you equip any Garry's Mod weapon that uses those view models for the hands (most weapons use defult CSS hand view models), you'll see your new skin(s)! Don't worry, when you installed these, it overwrote those ugly models, so now you should be seeing something like this:

I hope this guide helped out on your modding adventures. If I failed to do something correctly, please let me know in the comments ( constructive criticism appriciated). Two of the images are not mine, and I found them on gamebanana.com. The pages of said items did not include anything about using pictures of their work, but it did say this:

I hope that I did not break any laws. The last picture is of the current skin that I am using.
