GMod multiplayer is a mode in GMod that gives players an easy way to go and play with friends or just random people on the internet. This mode includes a large list of game modes to choose from and a few options on the side. WARNING: Before you go on any of these gamemodes LOOK. THEM. UP. These game modes, to a noob, are going to be the most difficult thing to play EVER and because of this inexperience the player would most likely be kicked or banned from the server they join. Yes, some servers ban people just for being inexperienced, it sucks. TTT and Prop Hunt would be good games to play for a noob.

The side text can be very helpful when a noob becomes more adept at the game. There is: internet- game modes and servers from around the world are gathered and stored here, local network- servers and game modes that are on your local network, history- servers you have played recently will be here, favorites- servers that you have favorited will be placed here (TO FAVORITE: go to legacy browser, search the sever you want and right click on the server you want to favorite and favorite it, it will be on your list then), refresh listings- do i really need to explain this?, and legacy browser- original source browser, much more difficult to use, people really just use it for favoriting.

When you go into a game mode you will suddenly see a whirlwind of servers fly at you, don't panic, just wait (this is the server list, it keeps getting corrected as more servers connect to the list) and pick one. You will now be redirected to the server loading room, the place where all the server data gets transfered to your computer. WARNING: Everything that is loading onto your computer are addons the server has downloaded, minimize the amount of servers you play on (to about one or two per game mode) to keep memory usage and wait times to get into the server at low levels.

TTT (Trouble in Terrorist Town) is a game mode in GMod multiplayer that has a group of players divided into two teams: traitors and innocents. The rules are simple:

INNOCENTS - don't get killed by the traitors

TRAITORS - don't get killed by the innocents

While that might be oversimplified, it is basically the idea.

Now let's look a each group's roles and attributes (DIFFERENT SERVERS MAY VARY)

Traitors: These people get to go around killing people because they are tired of being terrorists, the twist? There are much more innocents then there are traitors. So the traitors have to take out the innocents quickly and quietly without being caught. Along with all the weapons around the map there are traitor shops that can be accesed by the traitors, these shops can be opened by clicking C, the traitors can then buy special weapons and items to help fight the innocents. These are bought with credits, credits are special currency given to traitors for killing detectives and investigating detective or traitor corpses. They can even use special abilites unique to the map that is being played on by pressing E. If you are a traitor, keep it a secret to innocents. Freindly traitor "buddies" can be seen with red Ts above their head as an indication not to kill them.

When all innocents are killed traitors win and vice versa

Innocents: These people go around minding their own buisness, trying to not be killed by traitors. They cannot use the traitor shop or any other map abilities. Their secret weapon is the detective, the detective is sometimes teased as the "blue traitor" because of the similarities between the two and is basically just an innocent on steroids. The third class allows acess to the detective shop, a traitor shop with detective weapons and items (credits are earned the same way, killing traitors or investigating detective or traitor corpses). Detectives can do many special things, get DNA off of corpses that have some, can see who was the last person the corpse saw, not getting rdmed because you have no chance of being called a traitor (best attribute if you ask me), along with the entire detective shop the detective is very powerful in the game. Note: as a detective you will be targeted early and often by traitors.

By pressing E on a corpse, all three clases can acess tidbits about this person's life: how they died, how long has it been since their death, etc.

How to use the detective's DNA Scanner
The detective's dna scanner is a vital tool used to find out who killed who. To use this item you have to identify a corpse and call a detective using the "call detective" button in the info box (unless you are a detective, i suggest using logic here), the detective then clicks on the corpse with the scanner (NOTE: there has to be DNA on the corpse to use the scanner). The scanner then beeps telling the detective where the person is, (it functions as a sort of *ping* on a radar, movement is not continuous, it is updated regularly) by clicking the right mouse button with the scanner equipped the detective can bring up a scanner menu to show charge and a button to unequip a certain piece of DNA, along with a DNA organizer for all the DNA you have collected.

REMINDER: Don't kill the person just because the DNA points to them, if the game has just started and there is a lot of people it could have been a simple misfire.

Karma - Watch out for this, it is vital to playing this game mode. This is an amount of points given to each player that starts at 1000, this determines your weapon damage for the round (the less karma the less damage, 1000 grants full damage). You lose karma for killing teammates and it can be regained by killing players of the opposite team and going full rounds without killing teammates. WARNING: most TTT servers have a karma limit, go below the limit and you are banned for a rather horrific amount of RDM (killing blindly without reason).
