How to get the most exp out of events
By KD3
In this game getting to the next event can be pretty frustrating since the exp you get doesn't add to your district points unless you beat your previous score. In this guide i'll show you how to get tons of points so you can avoid that.

Introduction-How Shatter bay works
Hello! Welcome to my Ridge Racer Unbounded guide for the single player campaign. After you're finished reading this you shouldn't have any more problems getting district points. If you have any questions just message me!

Each area in the game requires a certain amount of domination total to unlock. A domination is when you get three stars in an event, you should always try to aim for this when you're doing an event unless it's too hard for you. In a race you just have to place in first, but in something like a drift challenge you need to accumulate a certain amount of points.

When you enter an area for the first time, you'll notice every event besides the first one has a number to the right, that's the required amount of district points required to unlock that event. District points are exclusive to each area, so something you do in one area won't affect another one unless you still have an area locked that requires a certain amount of dominations. To get district points you just have to participate in the events in each district, whatever you score the first time is added to the total amount of district points in the area the event was in. You can't just farm district points though if you don't have enough to reach the next event, you'll have to get more points on a previous event you participated in before more district points can be added to the total district points for an area. So if I got 25,000 district points in a domination race, but got 20,000 the next time, the total score for the area is unaffected.(you can still level up this way though). But if I get 30,000 points when my previous score was 25,000, it will add 5,000 points to the total district points for the area. Today you'll learn some optimal techniques for each event in the game so you don't have to waste time grinding for points.

Domination Race

Pretty much the main event of the game. This is the event you'll be participating in the most, and it can get you the most points with ease.

For domination races there's a weird trick with fragging that goes on in this game. If you skip the cut scene that occurs when you destroy someone's car, you'll get a lot less points because you actually get points for the tricks your opponent's car does during the scene, this is something similar to a game mode in burnout where the goal was to wreck as much stuff as you could and it's not over until the car stops moving, in the meantime you're getting points for any tricks the car happens to be doing, as well as being rewarded for the distance it goes and even any cars that happen to make contact with it and get wrecked as a result. If you skip the scene you'll get like 200 points per wreck, but if you sit and watch it you can get thousands upon thousands just for taking the time to watch, I learned this towards the end of the game and realized that I forfeited a ton of points during my playthrough because of this. The trick here would be to stay behind cars so you can build up boost, then destroy cars, and don't forget to destroy the area around you. But focus on destroying as many cars as you can and getting first place to really seal the deal as you get 15,000 points for dominating the event. If you have the Immortal and you're allowed to use it for the event then use that, it makes getting points really easy as it takes no effort to get back into first place. I suggest always go for a domination and win the race.
Shindo Racing

Racing dirty is a lot less tolerated in this game mode. Boosting into cars will not 1 hit KO them, but you can still KO the cars if you ram them enough, but you won't be rewarded any points for it. Shortcuts are not aloud, so you must beat your opponent clean. There's not a lot of exp to gain from this mode besides the 15,000 waiting for you if you happen to win. To maximize the district points gained from this, you'll want to drift a lot and drive at high speeds consistently. I usually end up getting 20k per Shindo race doing this. You should be trying to win every race.
Drift Attack

My least favorite game mode, mainly because of how the drifting is in this game. It creates unnecessary problems, it can be a pain to get the hang of it, and possibly be the reason someone decides to give up on this game. This one is self explanatory, drift. Drift a lot, and do it right or you'll end up taking your time limit for granted and end up failing. Remember to hold the button down to maintain speed while drifting so you can keep getting points, if you go too slow you'll stop getting points until you drift again at a decent speed. Remember to also tap the handbrake 1-3 times to have a bit more control over the car while drifting. All I can say is master drifting and you'll be fine here, but it's easier said than done. These can be a pain so if you want to save yourself from a lot of grief just go for 2 stars.
Frag Attack

In this mode you'll just be destroying cars. In most of the events you'll be forced to use a truck. In a couple of the events you can pick a car you prefer to use. (I recommend using a car with a lot of acceleration since the cars can be easily destroyed with boost) In the last area you'll be given a police car to take down other officers. Most of the time you'll be taking out cops but there are a couple events that require you to take out the racers instead. In this game mode you'll want to skip the cut scene every time you destroy a car so you'll stay close to the rest of them since they usually move in groups together. This event also has a time limit so if you're going for domination, you can't waste time watching those cars flipping around. You can also use the shortcuts to get a quick 1,000 points and most likely be in position to destroy more cars, or even destroy them while using the boost intended to go through a shortcut. I suggest always going for the domination goal.
Stunt Attack

There isn't much you can do here, just drift whenever you can or need to, and go for at least 2 stars, because trying to go for domination will probably make you rip your hair out.
Conclusion

As long as you keep these things in mind and go for higher than one star on every event, you should be fine. If you took the time to read my guide some feedback would be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Appreciate the rundown! I myself am 60 yrs old and still play racing games. My least favorite thing is drifting...especially if it takes forever to just get the hang of it. I haven't even played yet but reading gives the knowledge of what I need to accomplish goals. Thanks for posting! Race On!

One addition; created cities with events that are catered to the player's current level of skill, is unarguably the best way to go. :papyrus:

You basically summed up what the game is about. There really isn't much to say. The game is a bit of a mess and I wouldn't even recommend playing it, but your tips are much appreciated for decreasing the amount of pain one suffers.
