Sadly, if you are reading this guide, the information here no longer produces the intended effects. Abstraction "fixed" the glitch by making the game crash whenever you do it. So, no more race-changes unless you punch a Soldier as The Hammer. The guide will be kept up as a historical archive so we never forget what we've done.

R.I.P. WHITE-TO-BLACK GLITCH 2015-2016

You need to be at Chapter 13 on either normal or hard mode of Hotline Miami 2 to attempt this glitch. The difficulty doesn't matter, but it's easier to get the Gang Leader alone on normal mode.

You cannot attempt the glitch until the third and final part of the level. Until then, you need to clear through the areas non-lethally. To start off, fight through the first screen and avoid killing enemies with unarmed executions.

Same goes for the second screen. Knock out each and every enemy. Killing one might cause Evan to enter rage mode, ruining the glitch.

When you enter the last part of Subway, the Gang Leader will declare his intentions to tear up his new turf. What you might not realize is that this anger of his is coming from a shattered sense of identity. He does not feel comfortable in his own skin.

Time for you to give that green-haired gangbanger the gift he's been dreaming of: a race lift!

Like before, beat the tar out of his buddies, but avoid hurting the Gang Leader himself. When you are positive all enemies are down aside from him, approach him with a throwable weapon. He cannot hurt you. All he does is bang the floor with his pipe in frustration.

Throw the weapon at him to knock him down. While he's down, hit the execute button and DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE. The game will say you cleared the level, but that's not entirely true. The Gang Leader is still alive, and you've taken away his clanging stick.
Instead of bashing his face in, right-click to dismount him. What happens next will shock you.

Like a reverse Michael Jackson, the Gang Leader has gone from a white guy to a black guy! He's so thankful, he won't even attempt to attack you. He will walk backwards from you slowly if you approach him, amazed that an ordinary man like Evan has helped him realize his dream.

Knocking him down produces interesting effects. He reacts normally to getting back up, but if you get on top of him...

He will transform into a black square! Getting off of him returns him to his newly-transformed state, but the only way to leave the level is to hurt him. This can end one of two ways.

1. Punching him twice then getting off of him breaks his jaw and leaves him unconscious. Not quite dead, but you've left him in a rough spot.

2. Punching him repeatedly splatters his blood all around the Subway floor and snuffs out his dreams of living in his new skin. Shame on you!

Doing the glitch counts as a kill towards Evan's rage mode. As such, it's possible to go into rage mode if you kill one enemy then transform the Gang Leader. As far as I know, this does not prevent the glitch from happening.
I have not tested out how he reacts to different weapons. Feel free to share the different effects caused by attacking the changed Gang Leader in the comments below.
