Murder is a pretty simple gamemode. At the start of the round, everyone gets assigned a role. One player becomes a Murderer and the rest become Bystanders. One of those Bystander spawns with a gun, while the rest spawn unarmed and need to collect Loot in order to get a gun. The Murderer spawns with a knife. If you're a Murderer, kill the Bystanders and if you're a Bystander, kill whoever has the knife.

The Murderer is (in my opinion) the biggest part of the gamemode. The gamemode is called Murder afterall. The Murderer's job is to kill all the Bystanders. He spawns with a Knife, which is a one hit weapon. If the Murderer doesn't kill anyone within a certain amount of time, they will start to smoke, showing the bystanders their "evil presence". If you're a Murderer, it might also be a good idea to pick up Loot so the Bystanders won't be able to get it.

There are two kinds of Bystanders. There is one special Bystander and the rest are normal Bystanders. They each have their own objective.
The normal Bystanders spawn with no weapons and need to collect 5 Loot (by default) in order to get a Gun.
The special one spawns with a "secret weapon" (aka the Gun)
The bystanders' job is to find and kill the Murderer. This can be hard, as most Murderers are very stealthy, but as long as your reaction time and aim are on point, you should be good to go.

Loot is one of the Bystander's main priorities. Loot is basically props that you can collect. It grows a bright green color. As a Bystander, you should try to collect 5 Loot as soon as possible so you can get a gun to protect yourself.

Taunts are sounds that can be made by any player, as long as they're alive. They can be performed by holding Q and then moving your mouse over one of the catagories. (refer to the picture on the right)

In Murder, your Steam name doesn't matter much. Every round everyone gets assigned a random name. The names may wary from server to server, but they should all be pretty easy to pronounce incase you need to scream who the Murderer is.

RDM, also known as Random Death Match, is the word for killing someone without a proper reason. The word is very commonly used on TTT servers, but can also be used in Murder. If you RDM someone you will recieve a black screen for a certain amount of seconds. Most servers with staff will also slay you the next round if you kill someone without a reason, so just don't do it.

If you're a Murderer, you kill everyone you see. If you're a Bystander, kill whoever has a knife.
