Description
This is a map based on a real-world heightmap of a section of the Cascade Mountains, in Washington State. It spans an area that would include a stretch of the Sauk River and a piece of the Mountain Loop Highway.
There is an updated version of this map with a more classic-styled set of large highway bridges available here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=541768773

---------------------------------------------------------

Climate:
Boreal

Map Features:
Mountains (lots of interesting peaks, ridges, and valleys), River & Tributaries, Forest, Highway, Rail, and Ships

Missing Features:
None (includes outside connections for all 4 types of transportation and all 4 natural resources)

---------------------------------------------------------

I have been scowering the Workshop for realistic mountanous maps not set in Europe, but was dissatisfied with the offerings. So I decided to make some of my own from scratch.

Detailed Description
This map has a LOT of mountains and forest area, relatively few flat areas, various sizes of rivers snaking through it, and several small tributaries that feed the rivers. So, if you are looking for a map on which to build a huge sprawling city, this is probably not for you. But if you are like me, and you enjoy the challenge and creativity needed to design winding mountain roads and find small patches of land for developing areas with impressive overlooks, then I hope this map gives you what you are looking for. Though it does have several small valleys, usually along the rivers, which should provide area for some decent developments. The map has some of each natural resource, though the "fertile" areas were added with a very light touch.

Future Plans
If I get any requests for it, I will probably modify the two large highway bridges spanning very long and tall between two ridges, across one of the rivers, so that they are more straight and classic.
Update: Version 2 of this map is available now, as requsted, with a set of more classic and realistic bridges. Check it out here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=541768773

Notes
This is my Second map that I've published for Cities: Skylines, and while I feel like the design and detail is far better than my first, I would love any constructive criticism on ways that it could be improved, for future maps. Please let me know in the comments if you experience any issues, since I am unfamiliar with how the mods I have enabled might affect this map for others, though I am pretty sure nothing I am using should have any effect... Also, if you use the map, I'd love to see screenshots of what you do with it, perhaps to feature here on the Workshop page.

SaintDamien (and any others that are unhappy with the large bridge in this map), I have published a second version that is identical to this, except that it has (I think and hope) a much nicer, more realistic and classic-styled bridge. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=541768773

Sure thing, Captain Pronin, I live in Washington and LOVE the beauty of the area, and I'm especially always awestruck whenever I drive through the North Cascades. I've got several more maps already in the works, all based on Washington heightmaps.

Thank you for your input, SaintDamien... I think I will make a new version with a more classic straight bridge. I wasn't sure what people would think of the bridge in this one.

looks great, aside from that hideous twisted bridge.
