The Guide To Basics, And Getting Past Day 10!
By Rintaro
This guide is to help new players, and explains just about everything the game offers. I've beaten the game a few times, and researched to make sure everything I put in this guide is true. I also explain on how to get through the first 10 days! I will continue to polish and update the guide if it is successful enough and gets enough support, thanks guys!

Just a casual gamer helping out other guys/gals, hope this guide helps you learn some things and improve from mistakes!

Intro
So you saw the game called "Kingdom" and you want to learn how to play it am I right? Well, grab some coffee, a snack, and be ready to read up on my Kingdom guide! I've beaten the game about 6 times now, and I'm currently working on unlocking all the achievements! Hope this helps you guys, if so leave a comment or rate, thanks!

Wait but good ol guide maker, how do you choose if your king or queen, and your color?
Simple! But very hard to catch without anyone telling you! All you do is press the down arrow while in the loading screen, or when your character is running on his horse, as you load.

The 6 Units Available.
You should have gotten through the tutorial and have seen what you can do so far, anyways. The beginning of this game is all about recruiting villagers from camps(Which will be explained later.) There are 6 units in this game you are able to recruit, I will explain which each unit does.
  • Builder
The builder uses the hammer item, costing 3 coins. These are your main units to build walls, towers, and upgrade buildings, they can also cut down unwanted trees for a coin.
  • Archer
The archer is your main defensive/offensive unit, they will hunt rabbits in the morning, and will stay behind walls and defend your kingdom at night. These units use the bow item, costing 2 coins.
  • Farmer
The farmer will of course farm land in your kingdom, however you will need your builders to build a area to farm, which will be found where water leaks into the river. Farmers later in the game will be your main source of income.
  • The Knight
The knight is a unit you will only be able to obtain when your town hall is at it's highest rank. You need to upgrade your town hall to at least Level 5 or 6, to the point where you have a small castle. These units can be best described as a "tank" the trolls will try to attack them but bounce off them if they attempt to, making them perfect soldiers to protect your archers when a wall is down. However, they will eventually die if they take to many hits. You can only have a total of 4 knights, 2 on each side.
  • Bowmen
Bowmen are basically a upgrade to your archers, you will see them wear different armor, and be much more effective, these are obtained the same way as a knight. You can only have a total of 12 bowmen, 6 on each side.
  • Catapults
You can have a total of 2 catapults, 1 on each side, they will launch a rock and can kill several trolls at once, and they require 2 builders to operate, keep in mind that catapults are known for their accuracy.
Camps
Camps can be be found on the left or right side of the map, however keep in mind there will almost always be 2 camps to the right of your kingdom to start. Each villager costs you a coin to recruit, when you recruit them they will start to make way to your kingdom. To recruit a villager simply press the down arrow key like the tutorial showed you. The total of camps are about 8, 4 on each side. Each camp only contains 2 villagers, when you recruit both of them, it takes about a day or 2 for them to respawn.

WARNING: Keep in mind that if you destroy a tree before a camp, the camp will disappear and you will no longer be able to recruit from that 1 camp, so it's important to not expand to quickly, as the more camps you destory the farther you will need to travel to recruit villagers.
Walls and Towers
Walls
Walls of course are used to keep enemies out of your kingdom, and archers will stand behind the wall that is farthest from your town hall at night to fend of the trolls, catapults will also do the same thing. The more you upgrade them, the longer they take to fall. Note: Walls are only buildable on a dirt mound.(Or a pile of dirt for you non vocabulary people :).)
Towers
Your archers will take position in towers and will ALWAYS stay in the tower until killed, trolls cannot reach these archers after you've upgraded the tower for the 2nd time, however air units will grab them and take them for a snack. The more upgraded the tower, the better accuracy your archers will have to hit the trolls, and the more archer that will be able to join the tower. Note: Towers are only buildable on a pile of rocks.

WARNING: Keep in mind that archers will never leave the tower, so be careful where you put them, as the more you expand they will sit in a tower and be useless because they will have nothing to shoot.
Watermills or Farms
Many people mistaken watemills for only able to hold 5 farmers, however it completely depends on the lands around the watermill. I've gotten up to 8 farmers on a single watermill. Farmers will use the land around the watermill to farm, it takes about 30-45 seconds for a farmer to pick crops, which will result in a 4 coin drop. I only recommend having 1 farm, as 2 is a bit overkill as you will have more money than you can actually spend, however it's completely up to you.

Fun Tip: Some builders will hang around a farm if it's upgraded twice, this is helpful if you have a farm near a wall, as the builders will be near the wall to help out at night!
Statues
There are 2 types of statues that can be found in the game, keep in mind they're completely randomized on the location.

Builder Statue:
This statue will increase how fast your builders can build a structure slighty. But the most important thing is that they will let your builders improve your walls, making them much tougher for those annoying trolls to break through. This statue will be looking to the left.

The Archer Statue:
This statue will increase your archers accuracy, and will increase the amount of damage an arrow will do. This statue will be looking to the right.
Troll Portals
There's 2 portals on each side of your town hall, trolls will come from these portals to attack you at night, when you destroy all 4 portals your kingdom will be safe and you will win!

WARNING: NEVER EVER, EVER, attack a portal early in the game, when you attack a portal about 50-80 trolls will come rushing out to let out a full invasion on you. So only attack when you are later in the game and have a good army.
Blood Moons, AKA You're F*cked
Blood moons occur every 6 days, like the first bloodmoon will start on day 6, then 12, 18, etc. These nights are very difficult to pull off successfully, insane amounts of trolls will soon overwhelm you if you don't have enough archers. The best advice I can give you is to save up coin on day 3, and start getting as many archers as possible, sometimes if I didn't recruit enough archers I'll drop coins in front of the wall, so the trolls will take them and return to the portal, shortening the numbers I face. Keep in mind that a blood moon attack only occurs on one side, so knowing which side has the active portal can determine defeat or victory. You have to understand that for the first 2 blood moons you will almost always have casualties, so don't feel bad if you lose some soldiers!
Note: I've found bloodmoons to occur every 6 days, however sometimes they come every 5, so I'll have a blood moon on day 6, 12, but then on day 17, I'll have a bloodmoon.
Kingdom Monuments
The monument is a must in order to upgrade your town hall to tier 5, and 6. It's only purpose is to let you upgrade your structures further.
What's the black horse in the forest?
Pretty simple actually! The black horse costs 3 coins. It will be in the forest, stuck to this fence type looking object. It runs faster, longer, and in general is definitely worth buying.
Portals(When they're destroyed)
Basically, when you destroy a portal, you can pay a few coins to create one, when you make a portal, you basically pay 1 coin to look right and left very fast in the map. You press the down arrow to move to that location. It's really weird, but soon as you use it, it's self explanatory.
Days 1-2
Now that you read all the basic things that the game offers, it's finally time to start playing! For the first 2 days, you will want to recruit villagers from camps, get a few archers and builders, and atleast get 1 wall on each side of your town hall. My main strategy is to go 4 archers, and 2 builders. This allows me to have 2 archers on each side, hunting rabbits in the morning. And the two builders so they work together to build structures faster. The trolls will come in very few numbers for the first few days, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have walls.

Tip: It's best to go for more archers then anything, I'd say recruit a builder for every 3-5 archers you recruit. Or you can do what I do and recruit some more builders when you feel like you need structures built faster and/or have catapults.

Tip: Try to hold off upgrading your walls until day 3, the trolls shouldn't break through the walls if you have enough archers.
Days 3-5
For these next few days, I'd recommend upgrading your walls, you can either expand or continue recruiting archers, and builders. Keep in mind, if you expand early you will lose some units and will have to repair some damage after the blood moon. I recommend waiting until after the blood moon to expand, however it's up to how you want to play. Just make sure you have enough archers for the blood moon, becuase if you expand to fast you may find yourself stretched to thin.

Tip: It's helpful to lure deer to your archers for some extra coin!
Days 6-10
Well, hopefully you survived your first blood moon. Now that the blood moon is over for now, I'd highly recommend that you start a farm, but before you do this make sure there is a dirt mound before the farm, this way you can put a wall up so that at night your farm is safe. The average farm can hold about 5-6 farmers, however I've gotten 8 before. You can start to expand if you'd like, keep in mind! The blood moon happens every 5 days, so prepare the day before it! Continue recruiting if you have the time, expand little by little, and make sure to find statues, they help out a ton!
What Do I Do After Day 10 Though?
Honestly? You do what you want to, It's up to you to manage your kingdom from here. Make sure you don't forget to keep recruiting villagers, make sure you have catapults by atleast day 9 or 14, they help out a lot with blood moon swarms. You should do what you think is the best idea, you will lose a lot at the start, but for every defeat you learn what doesn't work, so you're 1 step closer to success. I was defeated about 8 times before I beat the game, hell, you could become better at the game than I am. The game is hard to get into but soon as you get the jist of it it becomes super fun.
Helpful Tips and Advanced Tips
Feed your horse!
Whenever you plan to go a long distance make sure to stop and let your horse nibble the grass plain sometimes found in the open. It would let your horse gallop without tiring for much longer.

The merchant!
He will randomly appear at the left or right side, if you give him 4 coins, he will travel to your kingdom dropping off 4 rakes, hammers, or bows. However this is completely random which one he gives, so you don't get to choose. While this seems great, he may give you something you don't want, so it might mess up your plan, he may give you 4 rakes while you already have a farm full of farmers. Just keep this in mind, seems great but it could backfire.

Knights!
Each knight will ask 4 bowmen to join him in defending a side, meaning if you have 2 knights on one side, you will have 8 bowmen behind them. This is pretty basic but I've had people panicing to me that they couldn't find their bowmen.

Monsters, and attacks!
A really good tip is that you can only be attacked from one side, enemies will NEVER attack you from both sides, this is why it's so important on blood moons to find which side it is, so you can get ready to drop coins to the monsters if need be, to save the wall! You will be able to tell by which side is active if you go near the portal, the circle will be filled in with a red color.

Coins! If you drop a coin, it lasts a total of 2 minutes. This is great if you want to drop some coins near a camp, if you know villagers will respawn soon!

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this. Played a few rounds for the first time tonight, and on my last one I'd only got to day 11, but trolls ended up coming from both sides, so I got sandwiched in the middle! Maybe this was just a bug, but strange and confusing nonetheless.

Dropping coins, why didn't I think of that? Great idea.

Hey Dharama, in the classic version, the only way to defend yourself is to drop coins for the greed, so instead of attacking you, they take the coins and leave. I hope this helps!

Thanks. This guide gives me an idea of what this game is about. But how do I defend myself when I'm out exploring and recruiting campers? I don't have a weapon, do I? Can I take an archer or somebody with me? The little bastards just come out of nowhere and kill me, and I have no way to defend myself.

TIP: Surprisingly, I would NOT recommend catapaults, as the rocks they leave in their wake will come back to bite you in the anus. Giant Spawner Trolls will appear, these guys spawn little trolls, punch walls with incredible force, AND THROW YOUR ROCKS BACK AT YOU! I have hit wave 65 with no catapaults, so you can survive without them if you play smart early on. Although they help immensely early on, they start being bad at wave 40 (I think)
