How to upload your mods to Workshop after the recent update that had broke the uploader
By Theuaredead`
Like the usual rules of a Valve update "If it works, then break it", with the recent updates to Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 the Workshop Manager has been broken.

Basically, whatever happened in this update, something wasn't done to make the Workshop Uploader up to speed with the patches made.

So, lucky for us, I recently upgraded my PC and on my old PC I have the older version of Left 4 Dead 2 before this update was made.

Therefore, I excluded the needed files and packed them up to make a standalone Workshop Uploader.

Installing the Standalone Workshop Uploader
It goes into your "SteamApps/Common folder", do not overwrite your Left 4 Dead 2 files.

How to use the Standalone Uploader
Option 1:
Boot "l4d2_workshop_manager.exe" from "..\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2 Workshop Uploader\bin" and use it like that.

Option 2:
Add as a non-Steam game, for easy access

There was another option that had you edit "MediaList.TXT" to make Authoring Tools read this .EXE instead of the one in the Left 4 Dead 2 folder, but I can't seem to get it working (maybe Valve updated the SDKLauncher code to make it so you can't load third party apps through it?)
Congrats you can upload mods to Workshop again!

Disclaimers:
Valve will probably fix the uploader someday, maybe not, it's Valve we're talking about here.

For whatever reason the Uploader won't read your previous addons... it's odd.

I’m trying to update my add on but the tab is too big and I can’t press the update button…

My pc’s resolution is 1366 x 768 (that’s the limit) is there any fix for this?

Says Error Code 9: File does not exist. What should I do?

I managed to figure out my issue. It seems that the Authoring Tools won't let you publish mods if your L4D2 has been modded. I just switched to a different PC with a clean install of L4D2 and published it there.

How would i possibly get a hold of a link for the fix? Would appreciate it if somebody could message me with a link.

And now it's stuck on publishing. Is there anyway you can post the link to it?

Welp, I just revalidated my files and now it's working. Nevermind what I said.

They blocked Mediafire, and most file hosting sites.

The link is not here anymore. Can you post it in the comments so it doesn't get deleted?
