How you play this game influences the outcome of the story.
Good Endings
Normal
  • Get the Important Document and don't take damage while delivering the item to your boss.
  • Reward: Leave work on time and look for Kero Blaster at videogame store. If you choose to keep looking at other stores, the shopkeeper will stop you on your way out and find the right cartridge. This unlocks Hardmode.

Hardmode
  • Get the Important Document and don't take damage until it's delivered to your boss.
  • Reward: Leave work on time and get a preview of Pink Heaven's story.
Bad Endings
Normal
  • Skip taking the Important Document, OR...
  • Take damage after picking up the Important Document, including any damage taken during the boss fight.

Hardmode
  • Skip taking the document. EDIT: Apparently, this is the only way you can get it in Hardmode.

I got the bad ending on Hardmode by destroying the document. I think there's also a variation in endings depending on if you skip or destroy it, where there's text referring to the document being torn up, and the President gives you more work, and you end up working late.

In Normal Good Ending, you still unlock Hardmode after selecting "NO" for keep looking at other stores. The guide makes it look like you need to get the cartridge from the shopkeeper to unlock the new mode. Maybe put "This unlocks Hardmode." on its own line so it looks related to the ending itself instead of the Yes/No choice? Just a little feedback. Thanks for this guide! :D:

Just for clarity's sake: after picking up the Important Document, defeating the boss is optional! Don't fire your weapon, and simply jump over the boss to the exit on the right to avoid fighting.

(You can even hop onto the boss's head, and it won't hurt.)
