Mercury To Mars

Description
For a 1/1000 scale version of this world using modded planets created using NASA imagery, go here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=867277588

This world simulates the actual distances between Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars in their "orbit around the sun." Distance between planets is 1/5000 scale for gameplay purposes. You start hovering above the Earth in a lander. All the planets can be seen distant in the sky. Mercury is extremely hard to see, but at night, you can catch a tiny flash of red. They are positioned in relation to roughly how they would be in real life (only on a smaller scale.) Had to create a new world because I shifted everything to make Earth the center and had figure out how to minimize or eliminate asteroid generation in the atmosphere.

Mercury
~ 27,300 km from Earth.
Diameter: 19 km
Gravity: 0.2 g
Moons: 0
Alien life detected

Venus
~ 11,800 km from Earth
Diameter: 120 km
Gravity: 0.9 g
Moons: 0
Alien life detected

Earth
Diameter: 120 km
Gravity: 1 g
Moons: 1 (19 km, .17 g)

Mars
~ 17,100 km from Earth
Diameter: 120 km
Gravity: .38 g
Moons: 2 (Deimos (ice moon) - 19km, .17 g; Phobos - 19 km, 0.2 g)

There are procedural asteroids between planets. I have not noticed any in atmosphere, yet.

Instructions:
  1. Launch the game.
  2. Select "Workshop" from the main menu.
  3. Select this world and click on "Copy and Load."

To adjust world settings and add mods, exit the world after it loads the first time and edit the world settings in the Load World/Edit Settings menu.

Enjoy!

NOTE: Due to a hard drive crash, I lost my save for this world. The next update will be a new world and a new Workshop item. Stay tuned for updates. Also I'm working on a Mercury to Mars Easy Start with pirates. Unfortunately, the game won't let me do custom diameters for planets and moons. Any changes in diameter are reverted to 120 km for planets and 19 km for moons. As soon as they release a modding guide, I will be able to customize this further.

Please rate this if you like it.

Thanks, guys. Just doing some finishing texture tweaks for Venus. Far textures are a pain.

It doesn't show mods because, currently, their are none added yet. I'm finishing the planets first. This map will likely be left as is and I will be creating a new one with the modded versions of Mercury, Venus and Mars that I'm creating.

Na i used your map before never showed mods, the required D.L.C is on the left side for the player to DL if the publisher provides the information. Worlds that come with mods are already provided by the map but then show mods when entering the game Lobby.

Actually, I don't know if that's true. I think if you have required DLC, it will automatically add it, but I'm not sure.

Subscribing to the updated world will download the required mods automatically.
