Introduction
This manual will serve as the tactical and operational guidebook for all SRF operators. It is also available to the public on the Steam community hub. The contents of this guide will explain the proper methods to be used for numerous types of operations, from direct assaults, to defense, to tactical snipers. It will also go in depth on each role in a successful SRF team and the basic loadout for each position. The manual will provide the operator with miscellaneous other tactics and techniques for infiltration, assault, defense, room clearing, demolition, and general information, such as ranks and weapons. The contents of this guide was created by sth30, SRF founder and commander.
SRF Ranks
The command structure of the SRF is as follows:

Ranks
  1. Commander
  2. Lieutenant Commander
  3. Lieutenant
  4. Basic Lieutenant
  5. Captain
  6. Sergeant
  7. Basic Sergeant
  8. Officer
  9. Private 1st Class
  10. Private
  11. Basic Private

Promotions
Each rank is superior over the ones below it. However, promotions must be made by an operator with the rank Lieutenant or above, and the promotion must be approved by the Commander or Lieutenant Commander.
Unit Positions/Roles
There are several basic types of units in the SRF. However, each unit may vary depending on available operators and operation abnormalities. Each basic unit will be named, described, and each role will be defined below.

Basic Assault
The Basic Assault Unit (BAU) is the most commonly activated unit in the SRF. It is capable of multiple types of operations, from amphibious assaults to land-based operations. However, it is less effective in small operations or black ops missions due to its reliance on brute force to overwhelm its opposition.

Roles
  • Team Leader
The Team Leader is tasked with coordinating all members of the operation and with the SRF command. They are the team member who directs the team and orders them to perform tasks to complete the mission. He is responsible for the success or failure of the operation and will address the SRF command after the operation is completed.

  • Sniper
The sniper is tasked with eliminating threats before the team encounters them. They rely on stealth and surprise to carry out their task. Should the Team Leader be killed or can no longer perform his role, the sniper is expected to fill the role until the Team Leader returns. Should both the Sniper and Team Leader be eliminated, it is the decision of the Explosives Technician to continue or to abort the mission.

  • Heavy Gunner
The Heavy Gunner is intended to provide high volumes of rapid fire in order to cover the units advance. He is vital when assaulting heavily defended locations, but is less important, and sometimes a liability when assaulting smaller targets. Therefore, this role is optional depending on mission requirements.

  • Explosives Technician
The Explosives Technician is tasked with destroying physical obstacles that stand between the team and their objective. These include doors, walls, sandbags, barbed wire, or any other obstruction. They also serve a lesser role as a combat engineers, who is tasked with creating structures and barricades to provide cover for the team, or to act as obstacles to enemy combatants.

  • Assault Operator (AKA "Door Kicker")
The Assault Operator is tasked with engaging the enemy directly. They are the basic operators on the team and often have the lowest rank (although not always). Their role is vital because they are often the ones who actually complete the operation, whether that be an HVT is captured or killed, or a location is successfully taken over. The Assault Operator is also found in several other units and is the most common role in the SRF.

It is meant to be taken in the context of Unturned. I am the Commander of the Special Response Force.
