The Early Game
Welcome, you have started your journey as China. This section will go over the basics on what you could do in the early game, but whatever you decide is completely up to you.

Like some other Civs, China has two paths to Victory, a Military Based and Science Based Victory. However, any Civ can achieve any Victory. These Two Victories are based on what China's Unique Abilities, Buildings, and Military Units.

Starting off in Civ is always a grind. China's Unique Ability is Art of War, which gives Great General combat bonus is doubled and the spawn rate for them is increased by 50%. This is a very good ability to have and China is able to get Great Generals early on in the game, allowing China to have a good amount of troops at the beginning of the game. The only down side is that China will have most of the basic military units until the Medevial Era, in which China will be able to recruit its Unique Unit, the Cho-Ko-Nu. This unit requires the Technology Machinery and has high defense, attack but short range.

Chinas Unique Building, the Paper Maker, replaces the Library and produces extra Gold, which gives China an edge in the economy. It is good to build one of these in every city that you found. I will explain in the later sections of the guide why.

Above is the overview of what to expect and now onwards to the Paths of Victory.
The First Path to Victory - Military
China has Two Paths to Victory, one for Military and one for Science. This section is about the Military Victory.

Chinas Unique Building, the Paper Maker, replaces the Library and produces extra Gold. This gold can add up alot if you build one in every city you found or capture. This gives China a large advantage in the economy and China is able to use this gold to support a large army for most of the game. Also, with Chinas Unique Ability, Art of War, Great Generals are stronger and are spawned faster in the game. With a lot of Great Generals and an economy to back support a large army, China can go to war with many Civs. If you do go to war, it is a good idea to build the Paper Make in the cities that are captured to make more money and support more units.

This Victory can be used to win the Military Victory to conquer all of the other Civs capitals but it is important to use the Great Generals to maximum effect.
The Second Path to Victory - Science
This is the Second Victory that China has access to. This one has to deal with Science. Returning to the Paper Maker building, since when it generates extra gold, like mentioned before, this gives China a good economoc base. In order to get a lot of science right away, research Writing early on and build the Paper Maker in a lot of your cities.

With all of your extra gold, not only would you be able to field a large army early on, but you are able to invest in your science buildings in all of your cities. Also to keep your economy growing, conquering and building the Paper Maker is very crucial to building your economy, which in turn can help you build up your science buildings in your cities.

That is how you can achieve a science victory, but researching good technologies early on and having a good economy to invest in your science buildings, a science victory is possible.
