Fix broken saves and crash after intro cinematics.
By Machine977
There's a glitch in Bioshock 2 in which the game can "no longer find any saves", essentially barring you from further progress. The next time you launch the game, it'll crash after the intro, and continue to do so until you apply this simple fix (no downloads necessary).

The Fix
Step 1: Locate your Bioshock 2 Saves directory. Mine is located at: Documents/Bishock2/SaveGames. Open it.

Step 2: You should see a bunch of bsb files. These are your savegames. After corruption, a save file will create a seperate, bsh file with an identical name. Delete these two files (They should have a very small file size compared to your uncorrupted saves). Your game should now launch perfectly, and your other saves will still work.

If that single corrupt save was your only save (and you had no auto/quicksaves), then I'm afraid you'll need to start over.

I'm afraid I'm no expert on this topic, I simply discovered this myself after being unable to launch the game after save file corruption, so my experience is very limited. The only piece of advice I can give is to check all of your saves to make sure that none of them are corrupted. The location of your saves shouldn't matter as far as I know.

Sorry if this doesn't help. I'd recommend using a search engine to find some other people's experiences for your problem if that doesn't do the trick.
