This guide will show you how to setup a dedicated server on linux.

How do I setup a dedicated server for linux?

1.The first part of getting setup is to download the steamcmd
2. Once done with setting up the steamcmd, you then want to download the server files via app ID 276060.
3. After downloading the files, make sure to have these packages installed before starting up the server list below.

Debien:
dpkg --add-architecture i386
Ubuntu server:
apt-get install libstdc++6:i386 libssl1.0.0:i386

If the package are installed, start the server via putting in the following screen -S svencoop ./svends_run -svencoop +maxplayers 20 +map hl_c00.bsp

More server config info located here: http://media.svencoop.org/manual_sc4/server-config.html

Any help for an Arch user? Arch doesn't use dpkg or apt-get but even with Pacman -S those packages don't exist or at least I don't think.

It worked very well with the tutorial :-)
But I would have liked more information on how to edit the server.

Password and Suvival mode switch off.
