What is uMod?
uMod is a mod for Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 that aims to rebalance and update the game to modern times. uMod is created by UberFoX with creative input from Olde. It uses the programming language developed by UberFoX called Sputnik. It was developed entirely without the game's source code because Rebellion Developments has refused to release it.

The program itself is an auto-updating .exe. It will check Ubersoft servers for any updates and if there is anything new, it will automatically update.
Installation/Using uMod
Installation is very easy. First, download from either source (they are the same):
1) http://ubersoft.org/download/uMod.zip
2) http://www.moddb.com/mods/umod-aliens-versus-predator-classic-2000/downloads/umod

Open the file in Winrar or Winzip.

Create a folder anywhere and call it uMod. Extract the contents to the .zip file to that folder. All contents (.dll's, scripts) must be placed in the uMod folder.

Once all files are extracted, run uMod.exe. You can create a desktop shortcut to it if you wish. Upon opening, it should look like this.

Now go to your Steam library. Run Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000. Select Steam servers; this is important because uMod will only work on Steam servers.

Once you start the game, you can minimize it and take a look at the uMod program now. It should look like this:

Now you can adjust the keybinds on the second tab (In-Game HotKeys) and perform other operations. When you load a level, be it in single-player, skirmish, or multiplayer, uMod will automatically apply to your game.
Console Commands
This is a list of console commands. To activate any of these, bring up the console with F2. Alternatively, you can use whatever key you've bound SAY to, but you must delete SAY in the line. Then type any of the following console commands in caps and press enter. To exit the console, press Escape, F2, or re-type SAY and press Enter.

HELP: Lists all commands.

ABOUT: Gives "about" info for uMod.

UMOD: Checks every player in a server to see who else is using the uMod and which version they are using. It will NOT tell you if you are using it (because if the command works, you are using it).

SPECTATOR: Enables specator mode. This makes the player invisible to all players and disallows him/her from attacking them, picking up items, or chatting. This cannot be disabled in the server. However, it enables jetpack (if marine) and grappling hook (if predator) to allow flying through the level and following players. It's kind of like a free-fly mode. To exit spectator mode, the player must leave and rejoin the server.

OBSERVER: Enables observer mode. This allows you to see through the perspective of other players. Use Mouse 1 to change perspectives between players.

COOP: Enables Enhanced Coop. This will allow you to change the spawn rates of alien mobs (hordes) to any value between 1-100. This has the potential to make coop a serious challenge for players. If you wish to set Enhanced Coop to 100 (100 max for all alien types), just type "COOP 100" (without quotes). If you just want regular Aliens spawning type "COOP 100 pP," this will disable predaliens and praetorians from spawning. The codes are: a = Alien, p = PredAlien, P = Praetorian. For more information, see "Enhanced Coop" under Active Changes.

COOP_DISABLE: Disables Enhanced Coop if it is already on.
Passive Changes
Public Announcement: Upon entering a server, you will automatically send a message to all non-uMod users stating that you are using uMod. Non-uMod users will also see that message followed by a line of code, which will be reiterated by all other non-uMod users. uMod users will not see anything.

uMod Scoreboard Info: There is now a section in the scoreboard that says "uMod." Underneath will be either a green "Y" or a red "N," which indicates to uMod users who is using uMod.

Species Say Indicator: "<Species>" will appear in front of any species-only text you send and receive.

Greater NPC Damage: NPC alien, praetorian, and predalien damage is greatly increased.

Bot Loader: This simulates the -lampcxtr command which allows the player to spawn ANY bot he/she wishes in single-player and skirmish modes. This only works in debug mode. Console commands are: ALIENBOT (alien), MARINEBOT 0-19 (marine/civilian/android), PREDOBOT 1-2 (predator), PRAETORIANBOT (praetorian), PREDALIENBOT (predalien), XENOBORG (xenoborg). For more information, see the debug mode guide.
Active Changes
Species Changer: This feature allows the player to change to any species/specialist without having to leave the server. This comes with a few conditions. First of all, there is a 45-second cooldown period between changing species/specialists. Secondly, uMod announces to everyone what new species the player has changed to. Also, unlike other species changers, uMod takes into account server restrictions. As such, it only allows changing from/to if the map permits it and if the maximum number of that species/specialist has not already been reached by players. Additionally, uMod takes into account the specific game mode. Hence, the player can't change to/from Predator in Predator Tag, to/from Alien in Alien Tag, to/from Alien in Last Man Standing, or to Alien in cooperative mode. There are no gameplay restrictions in DM or SDM. The scoreboard will maintain the player's current score. This feature saves the player from having to rejoin the game and possibly even failing to rejoin if a slot gets taken while waiting for description. All species-changing hotkeys are customizable. Default keys are 0-8 (num pad keys), +, and -. Changing species in single-player is not allowed.

Enhanced Coop: In the uMod interface, the user can control which of the alien types spawn (even in maps that originally only have aliens spawn, such as Trapped). The user can also control the intensity of alien waves, whether light, medium, or heavy.

Please share the older versions, like 0.8.3, where it still offered things like a reload button and wall unsnagger.

What Pachira said is correct, you have to run uMod as administrator or it doesn't read the Steam version. I recommend adding that to the guide eventually.

you should make the changes in UMod before this current version a singe player mod as it stands its just some basic utilities now a lot of the changes made the campaign fresh especially for the predator since you couldn't tank anymore and since barely any matches happen I don't see many reasons to use umod now
