Orthrus-class Light Destroyer (Small Grid)

The Orthrus-class light destroyer is an escort classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to escort duty and anti-escort combat. In these roles, it is being replaced by the Halberd-class destroyer (shown above for comparison).

History
The Orthrus is essentially two Paris-class frigates nailed together side by side. It is an older design, one of the first UNSC ships to have not one, but two MAC cannons. However, the Orthrus is getting old, and its armor is weak against Covenant weapons, as well as having a weaker armament than her newer sister the Halberd. However, she is surprisingly fast, even for a destroyer, and her twin MACs give her a firepower advantage over UNSC Frigates.

Tactics
When fielded in larger numbers, Orthrus Destroyers can work with cruisers to focus fire on the larger Covenant cruisers and carriers, or protect them from Frigates and strike craft with its high number of point defense guns.

To use this ship: Access via antenna or control panel on the "bridge", and remote control.
