In this guide I am going to show you how to upgrade the Operation Wildfire Coin from bronze to silver and gold and give you all the information you need to know regarding this operation.

I will show you the fastest way to upgrade your coin and try to give answers to all the questions you might have.

The Operation Wildfire coin is upgraded by fulfilling the missions that are displayed in the main menu of the game after obtaining the Operation Wildfire pass.

The player has to earn a distinct number of stars in order to upgrade the coin to silver or gold:



When you buy and activate the Operation pass you are able to complete two missions right away. For every further day of the operation the pool of available missions will increase by one so that you can fulfill one new mission per day. A countdown timer will show you how many hours are left before you can play a new mission.

There are also Blitz missions. However, participating in Blitz missions only gives you bonus XP for your profile rank and won't have an effect on leveling up your operation coin to silver and gold.

For more info regarding Blitz missions please read the corresponding passage in the FAQ section of this guide.

You will have to decide weather you want either the silver or the gold coin earlier:
If you want to level up fast to silver you should start with the Gemini campaign and fulfill it completely. In Gemini you are able to get all 9 campaign stars by fulfilling only 18 missions, whereas the Wildfire campaign requires you to fulfill 25 missions to get 9 stars.

However, since you need 14 stars for a gold coin you will have to get at least 5 stars out of the second campaign as well.

Thus the fastest way to gold is fulfilling missions of both campaigns in the following order:

That way you will get gold in 35 missions (silver in 22).

The Operation Wildfire Coin is obtained by activating a Operation Wildfire pass on your account. You can buy a pass on the Steam Market Place or directly in the CS:GO main menu.
Once you have bought the pass you will find it in your CS:GO Inventory. After activation you will find a bronze operation coin in your inventory.

The operation will end on 17th of June 2016 (GMT-7). However, every single operation up until now except operation Bloodhound has been extended for a minimum of two weeks.

With the CS:GO update of June 15th, 2016 Valve announced that Operation Wildfire will be extended for one month. So the new terminal date of the operation is probably 15th of July 2016 (GMT-7).

No. It is sufficient that one of the coop players has an operation pass.

Why shouldn't you? Of course you do not have to upgrade the coin. But when you buy the Operation Wildfire pass you can try to get the most out of it. A gold coin looks better than a bronze or silver coin. Additionally: You upgrade the coin by earning stars. You earn stars by fulfilling operation missions. For fulfilling these missions you also get XP and thus (for the first rank up of the week) skins as a reward.

To fulfill a mission you have to play the entire game. That means that you cannot just join a casual game, get for example 6 shotgun kills and leave. You have to play until the match is over in order to make it count!

Blitz Missions are global events which are active for a specified time for all operation coin holders. You can earn boosted XP during a Blitz Mission when you execute the specified mission action. Blitz Missions do not impact the number of campaign missions you can complete. You must be Private Rank 3 or above to participate in competitive Blitz missions. (Taken from the official Valve Wildfire Operation FAQ)

Whenever a Blitz mission is active you will get an additional bonus XP for every round won in competitive match making on the stated operation map.
You will get an additional 10XP per round won. These additional XP will get reduced to 5XP or 1XP per round won after a certain amount of XP is earned.
