Building an Efficient Starting Base
This is a short video I made to show my way of creating an efficient layout to a new base, when first starting off. In it, I build a self-sufficient base that's ready to be expanded upon.

Thanx bro awesome tips but what is the best ratio for the workers

This video was not meant to be an example of "the only way to build a base". Certainly there are many base designs that can work well. Also, this video was made before the developer made changes in oxygen requirements for humans. It used to be a bit tricky to maintain enough O2 in each building, now it's no longer much of a factor.

2 tomato pads was a mistake on my part when making the video. The correct ratio to provide a steady supply of pasta meals is 1 tomato pad and 3 wheat pads, which is also easily maintained by the 2 starting biologists. Later I suggest adding a Lab and meat, which will provide a steady supply of both pasta and bugers to prevent malnutrition.

Would disagree with how many water fountains you placed initially, one is enough, two at most (granted you removed a lot of them afterwards). And 4 beds? 2 is fine for a starting colony. Also, two biologists isn't an ideal minimum to run two high maintenance pads with the others you placed, one and some low maintenance mushrooms for example is easier and gives access to salads with your other food production increasing diversity. And o2 generators make a bad hub for colonists initially, more efficient to place the generator, then the processing plant with the airlock coming off that instead. o2 gens should be for large canteens and dorms (multidomes later too) to deal with crowded o2 comsumption.

Just my thoughts, but a good start for new players.

Great guide, it helped show me the best ratio of production and building.

The solar panel ->base pad -> oxygen generator link was to get the oxygen generator far enough away from the solar panel that it could be the 'center hub' of my base while still building the oxygen generator quickly. I ended up with the dorm connected to the solar panel in the end. If I would have built the dorm first, they may have died from lack of oxygen.
