Overview
If you are here from Kawaii Network AU, enjoy, anywhere else feel free to use this to your advantage. This guide will go over everything that you need to know including commands, some rules on Kawaii Network and general information about moderating in TTT/Prop Hunt.

If you are a moderator you may not have some of the listed permissions or commands, Some of these commands will be admins only but don't worry, some of this still does apply to you and will help you set up and learn from the beginning. So let's begin.
Congratulations!
Congratulations! You are now a moderator! Now we need to setup a few things before we get to know commands and rules. Firstly let's get to know the ULX menu system. The ULX menu system is a administrative tool for gmod. Anyone can access this menu, however only players/staff can see the commands that are available to them.

To get started let's bind the ULX menu to something that we can access and use regularly, because no one wants to type !menu every time! But speaking of !menu, if your binding decides it doesn't want to work, type !menu in the chat and there we have it. However to bind the ULX menu to a key, which is highly recommended:

Going into your console by pressing ` on your keyboard and type: bind <key> "ulx menu" .
You can replace <key> with anyway key you wish, for example a common key to bind is F9. As it is next to the default F8 for the RDM Manager. So you would type bind F9 "ulx menu"

Great now we have bound the menu to a key. To open just press the key and you will get your first glimpse of the ULX menu. It will look something like this, just with a little less commands.

ULX Commands
Kawaii Network has a wide range of commands available for use

We at Kawaii Network have 5 Staff ranks and many other VIP ranks.

Server Manager
Head Admin
Admin
Moderator ( all trial moderators are still full moderators in game )

Then the other ranks
Trusted
VIP
Donator
Member
User

Any ranks with a "+" in there name, example Trusted+ means they have donated to the Server!

However for this guide I will show the commands going from the lowest Staff rank to the highest. The following are formatted with the actual command first then their usage.

Command Usage
Now that you have read through all the commands and their usages, how on earth do we actually use them? I will tell you how, there are a few ways depending on the commands and it's complexity.

Option 1:
The use of the physical menu to use your commands. The actual menu provides a GUI interface, and is what appears when you press the key "F9" earlier. This is the easiest way for those new to the ULX system.

Each section you can see the command, click on a player and add the effect to that player.

Example of ULX Menu to slay a player for that round:

Option 2:
The use of previous commands and their structure in console itself. Access console by pressing ` and then entering the desired command. You will notice when doing commands a text box, these allow quick entering of names and other parameters quickly.

Example of a command entering into console to whip a player 20 times with 1 damage:

Option 3:
The use of commands via chat box is possible, and great for quick access to common commands. Command commands can be found in chat, find a compatible command, type ! before any command. For example: !slaynr Monkitteh 2

Example of chat usage to slay Monkitteh 2 times:

Example of all command:

Option 4:
Viewing a death scene is easy if you follow the directions below!

RDM Manager (TTT)
The RDM Manager is a powerful tool that includes shooting logs, damage logs, reports and full management of all game related incidents. Greatest tool ever!

So the basics, starting with what we can access is the damage logs and all other log related items via the default F8 key.

So let's press F8 and see what we get!:

Seeing roles, Damage, Logs:

RDM Manager Tab:

A report has come in and a player that did an RDM on a false KOS which kill a innocent player. This is RDM and most likely will result in a warning. If this is their first offense, however let's do a few things first.

1.Set the report in progress so other staff know it is being dealt with:

Read the reports and the response from the victims and offenders. If the offender has not responded after a reasonable typing time (reports will appear on players screen at the end of a round), press force respond to make a screen appear on the players screen until they type a response.

Before doing anything! Add the player being punished to the watch list, however you will want to check the watch-list to be sure you are not over lapping anything IMPORTANT Refer to "Moderator" on how to do this.

Warning the player is also another using tool to finding out what punishments you need to give next, from seeing if is there 2nd offense, or even 3rd offense.
Rules
General Rules:
Please refer to KawaiiNetwork.net for the most current rules.
Rules below updated 29/02/16
  • No glitching or hacking of any kind.
  • No prop surfing, at all.
  • No HLDJ (blocked by plugin)
  • No spamming of any kind (includes use "E" on doors).
  • Spawn AFKs can be killed after 2 mins of round start i.e. 2:55 onwards
  • Detective can taze anyone without asking for permission.
  • Committing a Traitor Act is called traitor baiting and may result in your death without punishment to whoever killed you
  • No Ghosting. This means do not give any information to alive players after you have died by any form of communication or signal.
  • No Metagaming (using a form of communication outside of the game to give information about the ingame events)
  • No RDM (defined below)

RDM (Random Death Match) defined:
RDM is when an innocent or detective kills another person randomly or without a valid reason. This includes, but is not limited to, the following examples:
  • You didn't like the person
  • They were moving or talking strangely
  • They threw a smoke grenade
  • They pointed a gun at somebody
  • They entered a room you were in (again, claiming rooms is not allowed)
  • They RDM'd you previously
  • You felt like it

Valid reasons an innocent may kill another innocent:
There are circumstances where an innocent may accidentally kill another innocent and it will not result in punishment
  • They were committing traitor acts (traitor baiting)
  • They called a false KOS on somebody who had already been proven
  • They threw a grenade in a manner which would harm another player
  • They destroyed or hid a health station or traitor tester
  • They killed another innocent or detective
  • They refuse to be tested after multiple attempts and forms of communication and the game is in overtime or they refused after a detective requested they be tested and did not provide a valid reason to not be
  • Caught in the cross fire

Examples of Traitor Baiting:
  • The player is shooting around other players.
  • The player is shooting at players without evidence/on suspicion.
  • The player is claiming to be a traitor.
  • The player is threatening to kill other players.
  • The player is attempting to Prop Kill other players.
  • The player is activating Traps that could damage or kill other players.
  • The player is carrying, hiding or getting rid of unidentified bodies.
  • The player destroyed Detective Equipment.
  • The player used a Traitor Weapon.
  • The player is carrying an explosive barrel near a group of people.
Punishments
Staff should be lenient in regards to punishment. Honest mistakes should be handled with warnings and advice on how to avoid future mistakes.

When using these punishments, please be sure to add the offender to the watchlist with their current offender status i.e. 3rd offence RDM. Future staff members will then know which phases of the punishment to implement during future offences. Players should be added to the watchlist before their punishment is implemented to avoid players leaving before staff have the opportunity to implement the watch.
In the event that a player does leave before they can be added to the watchlist, please make their punishment message what would otherwise be their watchlist message. I.e. !slay KelleyCherie 2 2nd RDM offence. Please add to watchlist.

Note: That moderators will not be able to implement bans lasting further than one day. Mods who need to have a ban extended should contact the head admin and another admin member. When a ban is implemented, please take a screenshot of said ban and send it to the Head Admin so that it may be archived.

RDM:
1st offence = warning
2nd offence = 2 slays
3rd offence = 5 slays
4th offence = 5 slays and 1 day ban
5 offence = 10 slays and 1 week ban

Cases of mass RDM:
1st offence = an auto slay for each death and a warning
2nd offence = 1 week ban
3rd offence = 30 day ban
Further offences are to result in a permanent ban

Immediately watchlist and then permanently ban.

Metagaming:

Amazing. Helps a lot. Thanks Skarr. A PropHunt and a Deathrun (for those who play Deathrun) guide would be great as well. Seto can do the prophunt one and whoever is in charge of Deathrun can do their own

Wow. This is great. It's quiet strange though, because I was talking to Kelley about doing this for PH, and you have just done what I was going to do....
