The AWP – the most powerful CS:GO weapon. Despite that, it is balanced. Imagine a weapon with the AWP’s power and P90’s fire rate. It would be a disaster.
It costs $4750, and it is available to purchase by the both teams. Since it is a very expensive weapon, if you see one on the ground and the round has ended, for the love of Gaben, take it! There MUST be an AWPer in your team who might want to play it, and he will be very grateful for taking an awp from his teammate.

So, let’s start with the beggining. There are 2 types of playing the AWP:
1. Deffensive
The deffensive AWP style is meant to stay on a certain spot, which is safe, near your teammates, and just hold an angle. Despite it is the safest way to play the AWP, it needs a lot of PATIENCE and CONCENTRATION power, and it can lead to less frags than an offensive style.
2. Offensive
The offensive style it’s based on the „flick of the wrist”. That means that you need to rush a lot and be ready to hit the enemy wherever he comes from. Basically, being an offensive fragger is the equal to being the entry fragger for your team.
Don’t forget; push, be agressive, but if you expose yourself too much you can get shot from many angles and that might lead your team to a lost round.

The technical part of the awp is made by two commands:
-zoom_sensitivity_ratio, which determines your mouse sensitivity while zoomed.

-cl_crosshair_sniper_width, which makes the lines from the zoom be wider or less wide.

Since the AWP takes a lot of time to recover itself after its shot, good AWPers always have a better pistol than the ones from the spawn with them. If you deal with enemies that can’t be handled with an awp, you might need your pistol to kill them. So, the AWP also needs great pistol skills.

Taking cover is very important as an AWPer because this weapon needs time to recover itself, as I said before. So don’t EVER expose yourself, in an open-field where you can be raped by many enemies. You might kill one guy, but the others will shoot you.

In order to be a good awper, your movement must be PERFECT! I’ll explain you why: If you shoot while you move, your bullet will go random and you will get killed by your enemy. If you would’ve had another weapon, maybe you would’ve been lucky and hit your enemy with a random headshot. But chances to do that with an awp are very low.

Also, since the AWP is about holding angles, you have to train your reaction time and your flickshots. There are a few maps to train them, like aim_botz and training_aim_csgo2.

Use your spawn in your advantage ; if you have a spawn which is closer to B, then go peak B, if you have one which is closer to A, go A, and so on. This can make you improve A LOT, because you will suprise your enemy with being there so fast.
