Great work.
I'm not 100% sure if rookies will be randomly promoted to Rangers or not. You can definitely train vanilla rangers in the GTS but I haven't had the time to test rookie promotions.
It was updated today and I still haven't had the chance to check it ingame... I already have a Musketeer in my ranks. Will the name changes automaticaly aply? Do I need to subscribe again? Or will only affect new games?
Just finished a campaign using this soldier. It's a very strong class, especially early game, but I think it balances out pretty well from the mid-to-late game. None of the aliens are much of a threat to the musketeer until the Muton arrives (which is the musketeer's greatest nightmare) but you are always risking an additional enemy activation when you charge in for a sword attack. Chryssalids are a bit of a problem too because any overwatch shots you take are probably going to miss, bladestorm can be a lifesaver in those situations. I highly recommend a stock for the musketeers gun, you won't be shooting with them much but at least you'll guarantee some damage that way.
Hope you're enjoying it, I've found them WAY more fun than the vanilla Ranger.
