Farming on Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin

This guide will show the easiest and most efficient way to get more souls, human effigies, titanites, bonfire ascetics, etc. Hope it helps :D

First Things First

All you need to keep farming is a Bonfire Ascetic.

Burn it at some bonfire and all enemies and items (in wooden chests and corpses [some might not respawn]) will respawn in that area.

Keep in mind that using a Bonfire Ascetic will increase difficult on that area (making the area a ng+).

Soul Farming

I think everyone knows about this farming but for those who don't, don't worry it's very easy.

First, to do this you must have the King's Ring to open the door at Forest of Fallen Giants and the Ashen Mist Heart to access the Memory of Jeigh.

Lord Giant is a very easy boss with a large amout of souls, that is why we use him to farm. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to defeat him and you should get 500k souls per run (at ng7 or more + gear to increase souls gained).

Here's a video I've made to show you how it's done. Just keep in mind that he might Hit Kill you if you're on ng++++++ or even less if you have a small HP bar. He is really strong but it's easy to avoid his attacks.

By doing this farm you can get some items as well:
- Bonfire Ascetic x1
- Fire Seed x1
- Divine Blessing x1

Gear used on the video: Warlock Mask; Narh Alma Robes; Jester's Gloves; Tseldora leggings; Silver Serpent Ring +1.

Bonfire Ascetic Farming

This is the only efficient method I think it exists. It's not easy at the beggining and it gets even harder after a while.

The one I use to farm is located at Drangleic Castle.

- You only get Bonfire Ascetics by doing this.
- They might not drop it sometimes but don't worry.
- You must be in the Pilgrims of The Dark Covenant.
- The portal will always be open if you have already defeated Darklurker Boss, otherwise you must offer one Human Effigy to open it everytime to do this.
- You can do this in all 3 areas but I've choosen this one because you can use a Bonfire Ascetic to reset the enemies spawn after you killed them 15 times (I think). Of course you can use Ascetics on other areas too, but this one will only increase difficult on this bonfire, which is a very small area.
- You have to defeat Darklurker again to use another Bonfire Ascetic and reset enemy spawn (Use Aged Feather or Homeward Bone to go back without killing him).

I used some gear to increase their drop rate in the video:

- Jester's Hat
- Prisioner's Tatters
- Covetous Gold Serpent Ring +1

Twinkling Titanite & Petrified Dragon Bone Farming

I really like doing this one. It is pretty simple, easy, fast and satisfying.

All you need to do is go to the Shulva Sanctum City.

(DLC)

I forgot to show on the video below that you can get and farm a spell called Sorcery: Focus Souls. Before crossing the bridge to the Dragon Sanctum, roll into the vases and you should see the spell.

By doing this farm you get:

- Dried Root x4 (you get another 3 on a chest by going to the right at 1:18 and then going to the left)
- Rusted Coins x10
- Human Effigies x2
- Soul of a Great Hero x1
- Soul of a Hero x1
- Dragon Charm x3
- Boltstone x3
- Bleed Stone x3
- Twinkling Titanite x3
- Petrified Dragon Bone x3

Human Effigy Farming

There a more methods to farm Effigies, but I thought this one is the less known and the easiest one.

It is located at the first Bonfire in the Forest of Fallen Giants.

Just kill the two hollow soldiers (you don't have to) and take the way back to Majula. Inside the cave, right below the bridge there will be a wooden chest with 5 Human Effigies. On the body in front of you there is 1 Homeward Bone and 1 Soul of a Lost Undead.

Pretty easy and simple.

By using bonfire ascetic on place unbeknowst bonfire, you actually reset ALL giant memories, and one of them has another ascetic, meaning that giant lord method can also be used to increase the amount of ascetics you have.
