Introduction
The basic things you need to know in this game is that your character as well as skills and items you have will remain even after you finish the game or if you die.Knowing that it's important to start on easy since Normal will be a very tough challenge for your character right now.
In order to progress in the story you need to look at the map and spot Inklings
Take in mind that the game has multiple endings and by choosing an event the story will be different and it will make other events partially or completely unobtainable so experiment since every choice can take you to alternate way to experience the game, also some events are obtainable only during certain time of the day(Night for example).
If an Inkling is marked with an X its because you have accepted a job and until it's finished you won't be able to do any main story events.
Getting Money,New Skills and Leveling Up Weapons
When you get started in this game your weapon is low lvl,you need money and skills in order to get better.Well i found a way to make you improve in all of those ways with really low effort and 0 risk of death.
It's basically accepting a simple job given by the Cook in Posting Station
Or in Castle Amana given by Septiego

This Job requires you to hit a Tuna fish on 2 sides and reduce his health to 0 with a 2 minute time limit.

The Faster you finish the job the more money you will get and the good thing is that every time you hit the fish you gain weapon experience and new skills and those are also good way to try out new combos or learn to do them in the most efficient way.
You can do those once a day then sleep do them again.
Healing Items
During Fights being able to regenerate health it's very useful and may save your life many times,
but since we need as much as money as we can to upgrade the weapons or the health we can find those healing items on the ground.
In Takatane village you can find plenty of radish,in Road you can find dried fish and Rice balls as well as mushrooms,so look around and remember that you can have max 10 pieces of each type of item,if you try to pick more it won't work and the item will stay on the ground.
Upgrading Health & Weapons
In order to advance to higher difficulties or take down stronger opponents you need to upgrade your weapons and in order to do it you need to find a blacksmith. You can find one in Takatane village

and one in Omiki Town

Also you can Boost your health permanetly by buying amulets in Posting Station from this guy

End
Those are the basic but as you play you will learn many small things about the game.
I hope this guide helped you guys and have fun :)

Currently playing the game on my steam deck, and it's fun! Even though it is fun, it was really confusing about what to do as a beginner. Thanks for the guide!

I haven't found a newbie guide regarding the time flow.
For those who wanted to know about the time flow of the game its basically this:
- There are specific events called Inklings. these are marked with a '!' in the map. If you enter an area with an inkling, either its automatically triggered, or you have to go to a specific location
- The amount of days don't matter : only the specific order of inklings that is triggered.
- Most inklings appear at 2 specific time of day (morning / day / evening - or night). If you missed an inkling because of time, just don't trigger any inklings until the next day and you'll still see them back. Sleep at your house in Takatane Village and get to the time of day that you want.
- So in conclusion: as long as you know what inklings are what event, you can evade them and act freely for however long and however amount of days you want

Nice guide, very informative. I have a question for you however, do you know how to side-step in combat with a keyboard? I can't figure it out. theres no tutotrial for it as far as i can tell, and no key bingings for it.
